That reminds me...
Even while reading Star Trek fanfics and stuff, they're do songfics about rather inappropiate subjects...

I informed her as gently as I could that many of her favorite songs were not by Al. Well, being the super hacking genius that she believes herself to be, she couldn't possibly fathom the notion of receiving bad information online (gasp!), so she flat out called me a liar.

I've been in casual conversations with others at concerts and they'd INSIST that Al did a parody of some song, especially "Living La Vida Loca". I'd try to set them straight, but they insisted they knew the truth. Of course, I don't have the credibility you have, Catra.

I asked him what that was about and he said nothing. I asked again, he said something about a Windows Sucks song.

I often wonder if Bill Gates thought Al did that "Windows Sucks" song, and that was why he never got back to Al about the IAATP video appearance.

Elvis,

Maybe I am taking you WAY to literally here... But that article itself was a parody, no?

Tho' I could get behind (pun intended) a Weird Al treatment of LLVL. Please, oh please, let there be a video!!

But if the Onion says it, it has to be true, right? :lookround:

Who can forget the widespread consternation after they published their spoof about the Harry Potter books turning small children into Satanists? That article got copied and reposted (without source attribution) and scared zillions of earnest, God-fearing (but not fact-checking) parents spitless.

Al's lucky he has a good relationship with the Onion staff, and so only got afflicted with Ricky Martin and a caffeine addiction. It could have been so much worse!

Anyone actually read the notes Al "wrote" in the Onion article?

What is really funny about this conversation, is that not one of us had to be told what the article said. Because everyone on this forum has obviously done the prerequisite WAY surfing and reading...

LOL!

QUOTE Livin La Vida Polka

I actually like that. Too unsubtle? Not sure if that's a compliment to Al or not...

Hmmm... "Onion Al" seemed to think that rhyming "loca" with "super soaker" had video possibilities, but what about the concert possibilities?

I don't know what the snowflakes in "The Night Santa Went Crazy" are made of, but one concertgoer said they tasted kind of detergent-y.

It could add a whole new level of meaning to the idea of "good clean fun."

Maybe "Onion Al" and Weird Al ought to get together, do lunch, talk it over.

According to Al:

QUOTE Dante Ranieri of Halifax/Nova Scotia asks: FANTASTIC CONCERT tonight, Al!! The bubble flakes during 'The Night Santa Went Crazy' were fun but tasted weird (of course!) What were they made out of?

Al: Asbestos. Sorry about that.

Now we know what the Hazmat suit for DTBS is really for!
