So now shows that have passed their peak will be said to be Receiving the Cone Bra?
Or it could be the kiss of death for songs that have overstayed their welcome in Al's setlists.
You know a song has overstayed its welcome in Al's setlist when....
... the T-Rex bites the cone bra off of Barney.
... the video clips from "Forrest Gump" played in the background are replaced by video clips from "Desperately Seeking Susan."

Yes...one good show and one bad show, right?
But I kid the fans of "That 70s Show"......ahem.
I don't know if it is a conscious decision or not, but I think Milwaukee still has the mark of the "Happy Days" family of sitcoms (all 59 of them), which may shy producers away from setting new shows there (although I think in the case of "70s," it's sort of tongue-in-cheek).
I guess it would be like setting a show in Boston after "Cheers" ended, or Seattle after "Frasier," or Cleveland after "Drew Carey." Sitcoms often give their setting cities a unique look and style on the shows (accurate or not) that it would be almost arrogant for a following series to try to replace that style.

Or setting a show in a split-level cave twenty miles below the surface of the earth, for that matter ....

I know one of the reasons why Happy Days was set in Milwaukee. One of the creators/producers of the show, Thomas L. Miller grew up in Milwaukee. He went to high school with my mom. Perhaps someone from the development team of That 70s Show is also from Wisconsin.
And... having spent the better part of my youth there, it does seem like the State is in a 20-year time warp. j/k
