I’m actually pretty happy with the setlist for this show even though I was unable to attend, because I’m not a huge fan of any of these songs really (except Fun Zone and Generic Blues!!) so I have high hopes for the Mesa show!!!
Does anyone know definitively if the alternate Albuquerque song is actually written by Al, or if it's a cover of an old ditty? I asked WOWAY's resident New Mexican, and she had never heard it before.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.
Here are some pictures, I was in the front and center. It was an awesome show! It was nice to see a lot of details up front haha!! I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't much audience interaction, mainly because I scored a front row seat. But it was amazing to be that close to him for 90 minutes

I'm pretty much 100% sure it's Weird Al's creation, just so he could introduce it to an expecting audience as a little song he wrote about Albuquerque. He wrote a similarly cheesy little ditty about Rio Rancho (A little city just outside of Albuquerque) when he performed there. Something about Rio Rancho being a great place to hang your poncho... He loves to tease New Mexico, and we get awesome exclusive songs as a result.
Yeah, Sweet Home Albuquerque was at the Rio Rancho show a few years back. This time he played Sweet Home Alabama with no changes as his cover song. (Mostly so he could go out and say, "I have a little song here about a place you all know. ALLLL-ABAMA!")
