I've been waiting for a grammar-themed Al song and here it is. Although until today I didn't think Al ought to parody "Blurred Lines," it'd be an upset if "Word Crimes" isn't the funniest parody on MF. It's a slam dunk.

I agree, however that song is so awful because the sleazy, objectifying lyrics make it especially gross. However, the music IS admittedly kinda groovy and infectious. This won't be the first time Al has taken a song with crappy lyrics but a decent musical backing and turned it into something great. Extremely high-hopes for this one. I'm even thinking my girlfriend (who is not really an Al fanatic) might even dig this one since she loathed "Blurred Lines", and is also a decorated member of the grammar police.

Exactly. Robin Thicke pretty much comes out as pro-rape in the song. I hope Al is able to subtly satirize that aspect of the original somehow in his version.

If there's a live-action music video for this (I'm betting there is), he may be able to get some subtle digs in that way.

I'm with you. I am just as excited to hear it as the next Al fan, but I had to look up most of these songs. Wish he did something a little more indie-rocky or "cool." Still excited though.

Haha yeah, I almost wish he'd gone the "Trash Day" route with some of these, but I have confidence the songs are funnier than their titles suggest. "Word Crimes" is the clear winner from an "I'm already laughing at the title!" standpoint.
