While we have that link provided, somebody ought to add a thing on the Craigslist page about Al's song.

Be sure to click on your home city, then explore the various sections.
What an ugly website. The presentation is so poor that i wasn't tempted to really stick around. It feels cheap and shabby

Eh, I'm not worried about a 10-second preview clip posted in a password-protected spoiler forum. Especially when it was previously posted for download on a site like Amazon.

I think the mods did a good job at keeping SOL .mp3s off the forum prior to the release. I believe we caught and edited appropriately all the links posted. Did people trade links via PM? Probably, but the mods have little control over that, other than to ask people not to. Also we can't police what goes on outside the forum, so once the songs leaked, I think it was appropriate to allow discussion. It's up to Al, Al's record label, the RIAA, etc., to go after people who illegally trade .mp3s, not us.

And whether it comes from Al's record label, or Al himself, I never understood the emphasis on the pre-release secrecy. I can understand wanting to keep the specific lyrics secret, but if I was a musician and I had an album coming out that I hoped to sell, I'd be telling everyone who would listen about it. Is Al worried about someone stealing his idea? No legit musician on an established record label is going to do that for fear of getting sued. And the morning DJ, or the guy who records the home-parody and posts it on YouTube, is hardly any competition, and will probably execute the idea poorly, compared to Al, anyway.

Ahahaha! That's the whole point and appeal of the website. Nothing fancy, just free classified ads :D

Agreed. This was my first time going on the site. They couldn't even spell out "Massachusetts." :P

I'm sticking with eBay.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I linked to its Wiki article, instead of directly to it. I often check out a website's Wiki page if I hear about it somewhere, before checking out the site itself.

craigslist Wiki page wrote: In June 2009, "Weird Al" Yankovic released a song titled "craigslist", which is a style parody of The Doors.
I was wondering when someone would get around to putting something like that there.

It wasn't for a limited time. It was just removed. Stephen saved the clip that was on there, and it should be a view posts up.
