Even a Yanko-handshake would be great for me.

ATTENTION MICHIGAN AND GREAT LAKES AL FANS!!!

Yesterday, I contacted my county's County Fair Manager yesterday about trying to get Al at our county fair (go figure, right?) in July. Anyway, I get this email today from him that bolsters my hopes:

With respect to our grandstand events for 2008, we currently are negotiating for a couple of shows, and hope to be able to announce sometime in February.  I can tell you that Weird Al has been on our list for serious consideration both last year and this one [snip]

So, maybe, with your help we can get him to Lenawee County, MI! The Fair manager's name is Chris Miller and his email is [email protected].
Anything I might have said is just my 2 cents. Feel free to keep the change.

Well, I do! I'll send an email to that address, Charlie. Thanks for the heads up!

Now to get someone to drive me to a fair in Lenawee County whose car won't die on the way....

That's what happened to me the first time I met Al, Grom. I didn't get a Yank-hug until 2004. I actually got three that night, and one more in 2007.

Ha! I hope Jeremy is really annoyed!

When I met him, I got a Yanko-hug while my dad got a Yanko-handshake. Pretty darn good if you ask me! :D
