Is there an Elvis Costello style parody I dont know about, or are you referring to "Radio, Radio"? Ill add to the list The Sparks and the never parodied but often cited fave, The Tubes. Anyway, more songs in that vein would be great.spacedingo @ Aug 8 2007, 05:30 AM wrote: You know, I like that idea. We all know the late 70s/early 80s new wave punkish stuff is one of if not Al's favorite musical periods (Check off the style parodies: Talking Heads, Devo, Elvis Costello, the Police......), so it could work.

Maybe it's my inner Alice Cooper fan talking...but how cool would it be to have a Alice Cooper polka medley on the new album? They are good friends anyway...so why not?

Ya know, I've always wondered how long before an album Al writes his original songs. I mean, I have heard before that sometimes on tour, he starts writing some of the songs for his next albums, but I wonder how many original songs Al has fully written already and ready for this next album (or maybe even the one after that!)
The name is John, but you can call me JD! ^~^

I think he does start getting ideas for songs on tour, but might not actually sit down to write them until the tour is done, so he can concentrate some. That's probably mostly just the original songs though.JDTurnbull272 @ Aug 8 2007, 11:36 PM wrote: Ya know, I've always wondered how long before an album Al writes his original songs. The parodies, he may start getting ideas for when he actually starts hitting the studio, so they're fresh and of hot songs that people would know. That way the parody's not too outdated.
I'm not saying he does it that way, but it makes the most sense to me.

At the end of Al's tour this year he should re record headline news with all the new current news that he's used in his concerts this year? I know he has paris hilton and Britney spears but he has to come up with more. What about Lindsay Lohan or the Michael Vick news story?
