Hello everyone! I'm sure I'll be sticking around for quite a while. I've checked out Al's page countless times but for some reason I never registered for the message boards until just now.
I'm 30 years old and have been a fan of Al's for almost as long as I can remember. As a kid I remember owning 3D and Dare to be Stupid on vinyl -- I think I still have my Eat It 45 out in the garage. I even lip synched to "That Boy Could Dance", the B-Side, at an elementary talent show. Back then, I had just about all the same problems as "Jimmy the Geek", except I couldn't dance either.
While watching the UHF DVD and listening to the comedy track, a friend and I started wondering if any of those places still existed. Tulsa isn't that big of a place, and with Mappoint and my laptop, we were able to track them all without a problem. I'm not sure if we got the cemetary picture from the right spot -- that was the toughest one, as it seems like that area has changed a lot over time. The ones of Weird Al's apartment, City Hall, and Raul's apartment were eerily unchanged (except for that tree outside of Kuni's!)
Thanks for the welcome! I hope you guys get as much of a kick out of seeing those pictures as I got taking them.
