The "big production" song at the end of the album could very well be a Beatles style parody.

We shall see...

Yeah but why would he be in costume while he's in the studio?

Maybe it's just a costume FITTING for a future project. Maybe JibJab or JibJab-esque still photography is involved again. Maybe it's for a publicity photo. Maybe those TV spots for Essential will somehow parody the Beatles Rock Band ads.

Or maybe this is, indeed, for the video to the album-closer that will take "a lot of production." Maybe, instead of having it animated, he wants it shot in the studio a la "Let It Be." (Or maybe a combination therein - he'd be a fool to not throw in at least a brief Yellow Submarine reference). An epic Beatles style parody, if done with as much care as Genius In France and Pancreas (and we know it would be), has potential to be Al's greatest accomplishment ever.

Again, ALL SPECULATION.
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn...that's alright because I like the way it hurts...

Wow, all this specualtion sounds awesome! hehe, I liked the comment I saw on twitter that said that's what Slash would look like if he were a Beatle. Gotta admit, the top hat is a little different.

4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Maybe Al's a little more hands on in the studio then we realized....he needs to feel all Beatley.

This is very interesting. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. He can't be filming a video for a new song, since as far as we know, he's not even back in the studio yet. I don't possibly see what that costume would have to do with "The Essential 'Weird Al Yankovic'". Color me confused.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

He tweeted back on the 15th that he was working on the closing song for the new album, so yes, he is back in the studio. It'd be cool if this Sgt. Pepper-esque pic was linked to a possible video for this song. Still specualtion, but a cool thought.

Ah, I had forgotten he said that. I guess it's possible he could be working on a video then.
