I had never seen that picture of Al and Taylor in the studio before. That's pretty cool. I do actually like a lot of Hanson songs, so having some keyboard tracks from Taylor does seem to make Hanson very reasonable for a style parody. That's pretty exciting. It's what happened when I saw some pictures of a couple of the guys from Reel Big Fish back before Running With Scissors came out... and there it was, a Reel Big Fish style parody! Go Hanson! (screamed the 12 year-old girl in me

)

What if one of the songs is a parody of "Bed Intruder?" I really did expect to hear that in the polka, but maybe it's not there because it's one of the parodies.

BI is not really a remotely significant song.

I joke a lot. I'm relatively new to posting here, so it might take some getting used to/ignoring.

I don't seriously think Bed Intruder is a candidate for anything more than Key of Awesome mention in the parody world.

It is one of those things that people say "You haven't heard that?" though. Even where I live. And no one's heard of anything here. Doesn't make it subject to anything Weird Al would do or anything

I do think that Al should probably be looking at some non-traditional indicators of what to parody these days. Billboard doesn't tell you the whole picture anymore in the world of YouTube and other alternative forms of media distribution. Friday and Bed Intruder are both examples of songs that Al could feasibly parody that didn't really make a dent in the Billboard charts.

So I noticed this version of the tracklisting on Barnes and Noble that had lengths listed next to each track:
http://music.barnesandnoble.com/Alpocal ... 978932624/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
However I'm pretty sure that the lengths for the unreleased songs are probably some sort of placeholder since it seems kind of strange that they are all exactly 3 minutes in length, including Perform this Way which is actually 2:53. Then again Polka Face is listed there with a different time from the others, so it's hard to say. But I'm putting this out there since it's the first place I've seen them online and if they wind up on the Wikipedia entry, we will proabably know where they got them.

Interesting.
A couple of other notes: The album artwork is noticeably different than what we've seen. This is somewhat common with online retailers though, so not necessarily indicative of a different version of the artwork.
Also, the mention of Lichtensteiner Polka as being the first song used in Polka Face. For reference, here is that song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gDlYKrkQK8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It sounds, as you might have guessed, pretty much exactly like the opening measures of Polka Face before "muh muh muh muhhh"

Yeah, the "3 minutes" things are placeholders.
The Polka info was right on, though. For what it's worth, you could pretty much judge the length of the song by going to YouTube and looking it up. I do find it odd that it considers PTW 3 minutes long. I mean yeah, you can round it up like that, but we also have the precise time on that track.

Even more odd is that SFTCTM is also just 3 min. I think most of us are expecting a more "epic" song here, right?
