Okay, here goes...
First, let me say I've only listened to the 30-second clip. I had a rather hard time figuring out most of the words with all four voices meshing together & the fact that either the vocals are too quiet or the music is too loud. The vocals just seem a little drowned out.
So, I read the lyrics. Was a bio what I was expecting from the song? Not really. Yes, it is a good idea. I just wish they'd done something that isn't Al-related.
That being said... I'm not too high on purchasing the song right now. I'll take my chances & wait to see if they do a video on YouTube for it, like WYL. Or maybe I'll change my mind.

Well, they did say it was a song all about what it's like to be in Al's band, so....
From the site:
We - as in Steve, Bermuda, Jim and Rubén - decided to record a song that tells our story and answers some of the questions we hear like "What's it like to be in Al's band?" Performed by all of us, it's a 7/4 Gypsy Polka Rock extravaganza of musical reflections on our journey thus far
Anyway, thanks for weighing in on this, Lauren.

Okay, since everyone's offered their view...I guess it's time for mine.
I love Jim & Steve's solo work. They are extremely talented people, in evidence from that work. That is one reason why I am particularly disappointed with this effort.
I like the 'off the wall' sentiment of it. But, it just doesn't seem like their best work. I can't hear the lyrics, the beat is just the same over again...and it just gets repetitive and on my nerves. Also, the lyrics don't really have any substance...it's just, yeah, this is Al's career. Nothing seems to have any flow, and it just seems to list this is this and it had this. Then, this had this, and we met this, and this had this had this had this. It's a constant discography.
I did download it to support Jim, Steve, and Ruben because I appreciate their effort and for even thinking of doing this. I'm not sure if the 'part two' will be different. I was hoping of the song being told seperately by each in each of their styles of performing, with the final chorus being a combination of all.

Technically, I'd only looked at their site once when it was initially found. I'm one of the most impatient people on earth so I decided to just wait until someone else saw something new on there.
I'm trying to recall if I even knew about the song being released before this morning.

Just ordered the cd - thanks for pointing out that it's being offered now.
Glad CD Baby worked out the bugs while I was out this afternoon, it was nice to come home and find the download was available.
I don't think of myself as rabid or scary, but I love this song

Hear hear! Nicely said. I had hoped there would have been some solos, even though it is fun hearing the guys sing

Yeah, I'm sure Jeremy meant to include Jon as well, Fred. An oversight, perhaps?
Solos would have been cool. Maybe on the next song...
I like the gypsy feel of the song. Maybe it's because they played that 101 Most Unforgettable SNL Moments ad inifinitum over the weekend, but I'm picturing that sketch where John Belushi is old, and he's dancing around in a graveyard by all the other cast members graves. This music kinda fits with that image in my mind. Should I take my meds now?
