come to PA Al's Brain, please!!!!

The "OC Register" ran a story yesterday about the financial problems the Orange County Fair is facing.

Here's the part that concerns us....

Moreover, the report notes that the $2.5 million Al's Brain project, a 3-D movie featuring Weird Al Yankovic, could be up to 4 percent over budget during the next two years. A theater is being built for the project, but it will not be ready in time for the July fair, so "Al's Brain" will be housed in a temporary tent.

Damn...

This summer trip is not turning out as anticipated at all...

if there still building the theater, I would think they would have it out sometime.

Well, yeah, they're having it in a tent, but at least they're having it. And some tents can be quite palatial.

I was thinking that if they're having cost overruns, I doubt very much that they can be laid at Al's door, considering how very financially disciplined he is when doing his videos. It's probably the theater building, not the film, that's taking them to the cleaners.

Al's Brain is now integrated on the main page of the OC Fair website! Before it was just a small little link, but now it's part of the graphic.

There's nothing wrong with tents- many of the fair events are in tents.

I am now wondering if I'll even get a chance to see it because I don't really feel like driving down to the OC for AlFest and then drive back again for Al's Brain. That's a lot of gas money...

You could see them both on the same trip, maybe.

AlFest is going to be an all-day affair. And even longer for me than most because I am shooting video for the entire event. No chance I'll have time to "sneak away" nor would I want to.
