I'll get all the stuff ready ahead of time to not forget it. :) And I'll take plenty of pictures. Security shouldn't be a problem if Al's getting gifts. I understand the 1,000 show books must have taken a while because Al pretty much opened all the gifts and everything. I'll request to be last, maybe, so I don't ruin someone else's chance to meet Al too with passes.
Actually, I was talking about the email and pic to send to Emily; I really need to get that done by Monday since that's my last day off before the deadline. I'm hoping the things I ordered will be here by Friday and I think if I send them to CA by priority mail, they'll get there in about 3 days, 4 tops.

Hopefully, someone with the tour will tell security that Al's birthday is just 3 days after the concert and fans will probably have gifts for him so they know to expect it. It's also Al's last concert, at least until next summer, so he probably wants to interact with folks as much as possible, especially since it's a "hometown crowd". Maybe Seth Green and some of the other "Robot Chicken" people will be there; Al tells them in the RC season 2 commentary that they should see WSD at a live show and Seth replies, "I've never seen you perform live and I'd love to."

Hey I'm still on board. I hope to wrap up what I'm making here by Monday and then send it out. I'll send out a PM if I have any issues.

That would be awesome! I know last tour Dr. D was there and some other people, I hope Seth with be there too. Whenever you send it out is fine with me, and I'm sure if security is wondering what's taking the people so long, someone will explain Al's birthday.

Mine's in the mail, Emily. I mean, it seems a little ridiculous for me to mail it from the US to Australia so you can put it with others to mail from Oz to the US...but I'm sure the scrapbook you put together will be lovely and worth all the time, effort, distance, and postage we've all put into it. I wish I could see the look on his face when he first flips through it and gets that "Oh, wow, THEY LOVE ME SO MUCH" feeling. Melissa, will you have a camera to commemorate the moment?

Emily, maybe you could scan the whole book and put it up online somewhere so we could all look at it at some point...y'think? (Don't mind me; I've got AIH and I'm a little punchy right now...) B)
Praise AL!

I know the posting backwards and forwards seems a bid crazy. I did think about handballing the project to anyone else who was willing, but even though it might seem a bit childish, I really wanted to do this myself...damn geography! I also wish I could be there to give it to Al myself, but it wasn't ever going to happen :( What would be awesome is if we could get someone there with a video camera....

And yes, I'll scan all of the pages and put them online somewhere after Al has received the book.

To lesson the load on poor Meli (thank you for doing this!), I'll give him my present the week before in Monterey.

(But, don't worry- I won't mention all the other gifts just in case he hasn't been reading this topic)
