Ode To A Website

YouTube, YouTube
YouTube is so so cool!
I just don't go to work no more
Not going back to school

My WOWAY friends post Al videos
(I'm just so grateful to them!)
For now each night I have good cause
To stay up 'til 3 a.m.!
No time to shower these days; I guess I'll just be dirty.
Please please one more! One more time, let me play "White and Nerdy!"

All the teenagers think that YouTube's the bomb.
I've got six Windows open now marked YouTube dot com!
(And I'm 41 and a teenager's mom!)

Looking at Al's perfect face makes the world right
And I hear his sweet voice sing in my dreams at night,

But all day he's there rocking on that cool website!

My cat looks ill, the dog is dead.
We're out of milk, juice, eggs, and bread.
I tell the kids, "Oh, drink Coke instead."
I can't recall the last time I went to bed...

I just don't notice anything
But the screen when I'm watching Al, hearing him sing!
I sit here all day and night like some brainless boob...
I must confess! I LOVE YOU...Tube!

from the Al-gal poet who just won't shut up, here we go again...

For Al

I hope he has fun in the studio
When he's laying down tracks for us fans
Between the live shows that we beg for
He gives in to our eager demands.
For it's more than just music that pleases our ears
That we leave in his capable hands.

To us, he's much more than a musician,
Than a singer and accordion virtuoso
More than just a talented guy
Whose videos make us laugh 'til we cry
He's like our own superhero, only more so!

And I wonder if it's possible he understands -
That he truly realizes what he means to us all
That he's our idol and our inspiration
That in our eyes he ALone stands so tall

I think his impact on our lives is more than he could know,
But I write this in hopes that someday he may know.

WE LOVE YOU AL ! ! !
