I'd like to go on record as the first person who is anti-"Fesitv-AL." Call me crazy, but I'm a little tired of all the "Al"-based puns. There are plenty of other funny parts of Al's name. ;)
I like Yankfest or Yankofest a lot more than Festiv-AL. I just think it doesn't convey immediately to the casual observer exactly what this is supposed to be. There are a ton of Als in the world, but Yanko's are few and far between...

Yeah, I have to agree that conveying what it is quickly to the casual observer is important. That's one of the reasons why "Weird Al-topia Fanfest 2009" (okay, so it's a bit long) is my favorite suggestion so far. I know, there's still an Al-based pun in there, but it's a good one!

Al-topia, our own weird little paradise... :D

So are you planning to take out ads in newspapers, etc. to get Al fans in the public at large to attend this thing, or will it have to be a word of mouth through this forum and other similar venues type of thing?

I kinda like the sound of 'Yanko-Con' myself.
Aron-- Only the second accordionist to ever sit in the trunk of Torsoboy's DeLorean. Al was the first.

I still like YankoviCon. Pretty clear.

Pretty clear.

If you like things that are clear, how about TranslucentCon?

(After his desperate bid for human interaction* fails, louietheweaselfaceddogboy shoots himself).

Alas, poor Louie! I knew him, Horatio; a fellow of infinite jest, with a most unfortunate affinity for self-poisoning by means of lead. :(

hehe, I kinda like that, Grom.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!
