World of Weird Al Yankovic

Well, I was all set to drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway today to take my picture of me holding the "Happy Birthday Al!" sign I made. I put it on neon green posterboard and did the lettering in purple then accented it with multi-colored glitter. I woke up this morning and it was raining! I'm going to give it a go on my next day off, which is Monday. If I can't get up there then, I'll just take it somewhere else, although there's nothing nearly as scenic as the Parkway nearby.

I ordered my gifts for Al Wednesday and got a shipping notification email today; I'm hoping they'll be here by next Friday so I can get them in the mail to Meli. I'll take some pics so I can post them, after he receives them on the 20th, of course! I don't want to chance him getting a look before he actually has them in hand. Meli has kindly offered to get pics of him with the gifts but I know that sometimes these meet-and-greets can be strict about how much time each person can spend with Al so there's a possibility that he may not be able to open the gift until afterwards. As long as I know he has them, I'll be happy!

Well, I wanted to send AL a reAL gift, but I don't have any money to get him one so I just got him a cool card and included a photo of myself so he could see which I am on his MySpace list and a letter to him which included me apologizing for not being able to get him a reAL gift. Hope he likes his letter.

Its alright Ambra. As of today, you have 29 days to get it to me (I think with passes, a countdown is appropriate) so it shouldn't be too hard.

If you'd like my address for sending, anyone, just PM me Just a little advice, if you're wrapping anything, please don't have it to heavy to open because security might ask me to open the package to make sure it isn't a bomb. I'm not going to rip it open or anything, but an open flap that I could easily tape back up at the concert would be easy.

To everyone who is planning on sending something, you have 5 days left [it's the 22nd here in OZ Land], or until the 27th of September, so get cracking!

I'll have something out to you by Monday evening, even if I just end up taking my pic out on the deck of my apartment. Now I just have to put my birthday sign for Al in a place the cats can't get to it and roll on it. Two glittered-coated cats running around the place would not be a good thing!

Heh, it wouldn't be the best...Monday sounds great and I should then get it within a week after that. I'll get all the stuff ready ahead of time to not forget it. And I'll take plenty of pictures. Security shouldn't be a problem if Al's getting gifts. I understand the 1,000 show books must have taken a while because Al pretty much opened all the gifts and everything. I'll request to be last, maybe, so I don't ruin someone else's chance to meet Al too with passes.

I'm not terribly creative at anything, so I'll have to rely on the old Dingo trademark wit.


I'll work on getting something in. I missed the 1000th show book, and I'm a big attention hound

I finished my project and will mail it to you today (Sat.) I'm excited; I think it came out great. I know Al will appreciate all of us doing this; he's touched by this sort of thing. I wonder if he'll respond here...that'd be cool, if he could come into this topic after he's looked at it and let us know what he thought. (Make sure you give him the URL, Em!)
