Hahaha... tonight was the homecoming game at my school, and me and my parents went, as usual. On the way home, we stopped at Sonic to get some food (followed by a TON of Trapped in the Drive-Through quotes by my mom and dad-- God I love this family), and, at some point, we all randomly burst into "Floow, flooow, flooow pancreatic juices..." XD It was awesome. My mom even said, "Raina, you need to learn to harmonize with me on this song." And I burst into giggles.
Are we playin' horseshoes, honey? No, I don't think we are...

 That's awesome! When I make Al references to just about anyone I know in real life, they just kinda stare at me with a dumb look on their face. Your family sounds AWESOME!

And Sonic Burgers ..... :9~

My mom and dad are ooold fans of Al's-- actually, my mom's got an account on this board(Dixie), but she never posts-- and Ramsey was introduced around the same time I was. So, every night when we get home from school, the first thing Ramsey does is put SOL in his big stereo and blare it so that you can hear it through the whole trailor. It's great.

I love being in a family of Al fans. :)

Looked for discussion of the Pancreas video, but thought it would belong here. Anyway, I recognized some of the footage Al used. If you ever saw Ken Burns' documentary Empire of the Air: The Men Who Made Radio, you would have seen some of the clips. The little boy was at home listening to a radio western, and the other shots were of the actors in the studio performing/broadcasting the western as the the boy was listening. It compared the boy's imagination (what he was thinking was going on) with the realities of creating that magic in the studio: men in suits and ties making the boy think they were cowpokes starting a campfire and dealing with a cattle stampede. I have the film on VHS, and had to watch it to make sure. Al uses more of the footage than Ken did, but Ken used the actual soundtrack from the broadcast.
Hmmm...something's gone horribly awry here...

Just to clarify, Al had nothing to do with the making the actual video. That was 100% Jim Whathisface.

Pancreas is an odd song because it seems to me like it has several sections...and the "jammier" sections where everyone is singing "Oh, my Pancreas..etc. etc." are when the song is at its best..I love this song just for Al's vocals and the instrumentation of it...I really don't think it's "funny" because for some reason, even though Al SAYS Pancreas, I just don't think of an organ......but that's really not Al's fault is it?

This song is one that really grows on you.. :lookaround:

I totally agree, except that I think it's hilarious. Anything with the words "Golly gee!" and random body parts is funny, which is why a fifties-style music video is so perfect. I like to read and watch stuff from the fifties like this (including an ancient "educational encyclopedia"--I should look up Pancreas in it, it tends to be hilarious on basically any topic), anyway, I think this is indescribably funny. :D
Dave? Hello Dave? Is Dave there? There's a block in your t'ilet.

It's funny how some words sound dirty when they're really not. My students were shocked that I was playing this song for them, until I explained to them what a pancreas is. Uvula is another word that sounds like it means something dirty. I guess that's why Al likes to use those body parts as a basis for jokes.

Oh, and I definitely agree that this song grows on you. I'm liking it more and more with each listen. I really hope Al does this in concert and breaks the audience into three groups to sing along the finale! That'll totally rock!
