I just got back from the meadowbrook, like 2 minutes ago. we got there at like 6 and my mom and dad bought some really overpriced food ($8 for a can of beer - $5 for some chips...) we found our row 20 seats (that were better then row 7 last year in green bay) and we had a really good view. then when fun zone started I turned on my camera (I was doing some video taping, that I shouldn't have) then it was all normal until canadian idiot some person came and told me to stop recording, we told her I was using a still camera. instead of saying "Rochester Hills" Al said "Hello Suburb of Detroit", then at the end of close but no cigar, I got asked to see a security guard, he said "hey stop recording, I can make u quick erase, or you can just leave, so I rewound my camera without loosing anything, he said ok, now put your camera away, the rest was like any other concert, They did "Why Does This Always Happen to me?" as my camera was almost taken away, but besides that it was a great concert.

Well, to say the concert was awesome would be an understatement. Went to Max and Erma's at 6 and met up with some WOWAYers and some other folks. It was nice to get to talk to everyone, but I may not go back there to eat, as I am not feeling the greatest right now. I brought my bowling shirt, but did not wear it for the majority of the concert, as it was way too hot and humid. I put it on before cell phones, though. Annette was thrilled with our front row seats. We had a good time. Steve was cracking us up, making faces, and having a stare-down with me on several occasions. Oh, Al wishes he was cross-eyed, so he could see me twice. He also sang the entire end of WBUL to me, and practically touched my nose. Had I moved my head slightly forward *like, 1/8 inch or less* he would have. It was so great! Fred, Annette got a picture of him screaming at the end, but she didn't get the shot of him pointing at me, so I'm anxious to see your picture. I told Annette to join the forum, so she could post her pics here. hehe, she said the chant was kinda scay, like they were calling out the demons. Talked to Steve briefly after the show, before I went backstage. Missed an opportunity to have him sign my Tangled Strings cd. Maybe next time. I did kinda steal our backstage pic with Al from Annette's myspace, which I will post in the photos topic. I'll also post a picture of my accordion cake. We were told one photo and one signed item, so I didn't get my banana pin signed. I did, however, get a picture with Al and Annette, holding up a Happy Birthday sign for my sister, Theresa. He signed it first, then we got the pic. Theresa is responsible for me getting into Dr. Demento and Al, so I figured a Happy Birthday greeting from Al would be cool. I got my hug after that, and he thanked me *aww* and I thanked him. Got a hug from Jon on the way out. Thank you, Jon! :) Talked to Jim for a bit as well, and gave him a plaque that my friend Kari had made. Perhaps she has a picture of it, and will post it. It says something like "Greatest Guitar Heroes of All Time" and lists Jim and Brian May and a few others whose names escape me right now. He seemed to like it. I am so glad I went to this show. It took me away from my worries. *Mostly, my dog, Scout, who is at the vet because of a seizure disorder. Hopefully, they'll be able to get them under control with meds. Keep a good thought for him.* I laughed so much during this show. So great! Thank you, Al and TBitB! I had such a good time!

ETA: I decided to post the accrodion cake in here.

accordion cake, with flowers

I apologized to Al about the cake getting a little smooshed *Basically, the lid to the box got pushed down, and the plastic stuck to the top* He said "I'm sure it's still good" *this was before I took the cake out of my bag* Then , he saw it, and said "Would you look at this?" I guess he liiked it.

I did. It was really nice to just be somewhere else, away from all my worries. Both of us needed that escape. It's wonderful that Al can do that for us. I could never thank him enough. Oh, hehe, I did thank him for singing the end of WBUL to me. He giggled.
