I know this was mentioned, but seeing it in print really made me realize how awesome of an accomplishment this is. Al had the highest charting new single of the week. That's really incredible, especially considering the fact that there were many other major singles out there.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Sure, or you could do that for us. lol. I do plan on purchasing another copy of the DualDisc as a gift, though. That will make 3.

Wow, what happened there?

Al had just had one of his biggest albums, and I remember the Jurassic Park video receiving a lot of publicity at the time.

Maybe Alapalooza was released too close to OTDE? Al hasn't released albums that close together ever since (and honestly, the Alapalooza songs suffered as a result).
Does anyone know why he released two albums in two consecutive years? Pressure from the label?
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

Probably because Al wanted to do a song about Jurassic Park and get it out there before it got dated so he threw together another album in just one year.

Or maybe because a lot of the parodies on OTDE were dated because they'd been sitting in the can for a long time, and Al wanted to get another album out there so that people wouldn't think he was behind the times.
