QUOTE So... when's the rerun?

Anytime you want, I got it on tape... Al sounded great. He had that gravelly rock 'n roll thang going on with his voice.

:inlove:

I can't wait for Poodle Hat, but even a tiny bit of new Al material is better than none at all.

Hooray! I can't be trusted with technology. I watched the show, but I was trying to lose the commercials, and my finger slipped on the button. I lost about half of Al's serenade. :(

He did sound great. And I'm glad they animated his present-day self (as far as we know, that is-- that goatee comes and goes. I think actually it's a come-and-go-tee.)

:nervous: :onfire: Hello, Its seemed like they just wanted to have him in an episode. There was really no point of him being there. But it was great to see al on TV again even if it was for a cartoon. I hope he does the talk show thing with his new album.

No point? :stern:

No point at all... except for the new Al music. Brief thought it was.

I was just lurking over at AMW-A and saw where Bermuda said that the Simpsons writers wrote the lyrics.

I THOUGHT there was a spot or two with too many syllables jammed in.

But, hey, a new Al performance. That's enough point for me.

Just think, Al and the guys have always been a high-energy band, but now they're animated too!

Bermuda, if you are lurking...

I assume it was our favorite band actually playing the music for Animated Al. How did that whole process work?

Inquiring minds like mine want to know.

QUOTE No point?   :stern:

I think she meant that it could have been any episode the crew could have put Al into. The plot wasn't dependent on Al's appearance.

It seemed as if no matter how they used him, they wanted to do right by the appearance, regardless if it fit into the show. It would have been really easy to just wedge him in somewhere in passing to say just a line or two, but doing a song? Bringing him back out during the credits? Animating four other guys that a good chunk of the viewing audience wouldn't recognize?

This was utilizing Al to the fullest for what was correctly stated to be just a cameo.

Now the big question is, any chance the song will turn up on any kind of silvery five-inch electronic plate?

QUOTE Yeah, well my local FOX affiliate went off the air exactly when the hour rolled around, and came back on right as the episode ended.  Luckily I got to see the musical credit thing.

That's odd.

Do you mean the station just went dark, or they showed something instead of Fox programming?

Darn that Mama Bear. She just pops out whether I want her to or not...

I wondered that too. But if Al didn't write it, probably not. Though, as I think El said, perhaps on the big screen between costume changes?

Does Coolio own your affiliate station?
