To be perfectly honest I don't understand why people kept on asking what ringtone the song was about... why does it matter? It's pretty universal the way it is, which works because then more people can relate to it.
Some people just don't get jokes. Like people who say things like "Why Charles Nelson-Reilly?" or "Wow Skipper Dan is actually kind of a sad song."

Yeah, I'm not understanding why what the ringtone sounds like should even be an issue. All I need to know is that everyone hates it. Works for me.

Pretty much everybody hates all ringtones anyway

I agree that it doesn't matter what the ringtone sounds like. I think including that would have just been bashing people over the head with the joke, and it would have probably ruined the flow of the song.

And "Ringtone" is lighting up the iTunes comedy charts today. For the charts reflecting yesterday's sales, the song is....
#1 and #3 in the U.S.
#7 in the UK
#8 in Belgium
#3 and #4 in Canada
#1 in Italy
#9 in the Netherlands
#4 in Norway
(Meanwhile, "Internet Leaks" is currently the #1 comedy album in the U.S., Canada, and Norway!)

And it's still not available in Australia; neither is Skipper Dan or CNR. The videos are available, but not the songs for some reason.

Seriously Al's record company needs to look at reasons why a country in which he has had some of his biggest hits is not getting a fair deal in distribution. I know I moan that the UK is always at least 24 hours behind, but the Australia situation is ridiculous, unnecessary and unacceptable

I really love the music here! The Queen apect is just great. The lyrics were nothing special but the music I think kind of makes up for it.

If Al's record company put more priority into the UK than Australia it can only mean one thing

#4 and #9 in Canada
#6 in Finland
#4 in Norway
