Weird Al was recently interviewed by Matt Pinfield on radio station WRXP in New York. Al talked about a lot of the usual stuff, including Kurt's reaction to "Smells Like Nirvana", but he also mentioned that Dave Grohl had similar feelings and that he said an Al show he attended was "the loudest concert he'd ever been to in his life".
Listen to the interview here.

Yeah, Ive heard it both ways, sometimes its Grohl, sometimes its Cobain and for a little while it was "the members on Nirvana". But Cobain seems to be the permanant one since the diaries came out.

The A.V.Club asked T.I. about Al's "Whatever You Like."
http://www.avclub.com/articles/tip-ti-harris,44480/
AVC: “Weird Al” Yankovic parodied your hit “Whatever You Like” while it was still a No. 1 hit. Did he ask permission?
TI: Yes, he did.
AVC: What did you think of his song?
TI: I thought it was just as good as any of his other parodies. I think that’s, in pop culture, how you know you have truly affected the days and times of entertainment. If you’re not worth speaking on, then you haven’t adequately done your job.
AVC: So it’s an honor.
TI: Yeah. Absolutely.

Thanks, Helen. Added! Would LOVE to get a quote from Jack (or Meg) White about CNR at some point.

Posting this here for Jon to add with the others:
"I actually really appreciate the philosophy behind the song," she says of Yankovic's "Perform This Way." "It's actually very empowering, I think."

Here's the full quote from the video:
"It's great. I love Weird Al. It's a huge honor. It's sort of a rite of passage into the next level of your career, I think, when Weird Al does one of your songs. I actually really appreciate the philosophy behind the song. It's actually very empowering, I think. And he's, in a way, although he's parodying the song, he's kind of standing up for me. And I never would have said no to that. And I never did say no to it."

..and here's one from Cherry Poppin' Daddies I found a while back:
Were you honored or horrified -- or something else entirely -- by Weird Al Yankovic's "Grapefruit Diet," his parody of "Zoot Suit Riot"?
Perry: "Honored, I guess. Why Weird Al is such an icon is a mystery to me though. But then again there is much about the universe that I will never understand."

Ha!!! Awesome! I've never seen that one before. Adding that now, and expanded on Gaga's quote. Thanks, Jace and JEDM.

Got a new one on Twitter, and it's very exciting too. From @TMBG, John Flansburgh:
This exists.
They Might Be Giants wrote:@TMBJon: Is it true you guys didn't really like Weird Al's "Everything You Know Is Wrong" style parody? JF: No. It's flattering!
