I would love to see a song based on a movie on the next ALbum. I'm used to seeing those, and I was surprised when I didn't on SOL. While he's on tour, I'm sure he'll write songs so he can start recording after the tour is through, though we're not sure how long it will last. He might continue into '08 with this tour like he went into '04 with PH. Time will only tell.

That'd be something else if it was suddenly revealed that Barney Slayer's parents are the Coen Brothers. :Y

I think I'd rather see a specific TV show song than a movie song. It's been a while since he's done one of those and they generally come out pretty well. He would have to do something pretty universal and probably not still on the air.

They're not. Just two screenwriters who are trying to get movies made.

Is it the long awaited Planet of the Apes sequel? In which case I would love to see Al do a POTA song.

No. You all really need to stop speculating about this. If you do find out what it is and then the word leaks, my family is screwed. (My mom and dad had to sign a contract saying that they wouldn't leak the plot)

Recently on ALbums (excluding SOL) Al has written a song about a big summer blockbuster. Al usually has a three or four year gap in between his ALbums. My mom and dad are screen writers (with my dad also being an occasional producer) and the movie that they're working on right now is planned to be a summer blockbuster set to come out around that time. I told my parents the thought, and they both got really excited about it and said that if Al does write the song about their movie, it would be a huge honor.
the working title right now is Ceasar.

Unfortunately now that you've brought it up here, it's considered a parody submission, and Al won't do it. :P

Al needs to do a video game song. Something about a specific game, gaming nerds in general, the Wii or about someone he knows that plays games all the time. That's one topic he really hasn't touched on too much.

Al does have a video game song, but it was from a long time ago.

I still wish and hope for that U2 style parody. The video alone-imagine Al a la "Beautiful Day" Bono? Jim doing the Edge's guitar style would be spectacular.

Just to clarify whay BS said, the video game son Al did was Pacman, a parody of Taxman by The Beatles.

Diva, I'd love to see a U2 style parody. That's a cool idea.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!
