I wasn't in vip and was basically third row 20ft from the stage.. that's how general admission seating works unfortunately.. first come, first serve.. amazing show once again though.. that's the closest to Al I've ever been.. just sucks cause the one time vip would logistically work for me I cound afford the near $300 for vip.. life dream of meeting him crushed.. I wish there was a ticket I could purchase just for the meet and greet without all that other nonsense attatched to it.. maybe next time

Re: Mandatory VIP/Czar Experience (Official)
Yup was there tonight. The Vip experience was not what was advertised. I don't know if this is a per venue thing but the woodland Park zoo was terrible.
The pre party:
1) the only food was a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa.
2) there was no garbage cans. Everyone I asked didn't know/care.
3) there were maybe 8 2 foot round tables for at least 100 people
4) drinks at bar were 3.75 for water and 8.75 for beer.
5) Because of the lack of reserved seats most people left to go keep their seats on the ground.
Seating:
The venue has reserved seating, but after we went out to sit down staff told us those seats were not for us. Advertised first 20 rows, actually delivered same seats as 35 ticket.
This Vip package is a sham.

Originally the Zoo shows were not going to have VIP because of the venue but they added it in later, if you got to meet Al I still think you got most of your money worth. Unless your talking about the non-Czar package which yes, sucks and is useless no matter what.

And I reiterate... we need a ticket for meet and greet only.. the party and a bag full of cheap items for $300 is a ripoff.. I only wanna meet Al.. not all the other stuff

Yeah, but I think the meeting with Al is probably costing you 200-250, then the price of the show itself being a minimum of like 50. I think the other crap is just to make it more of a mandatory celebration of the money you spent. I just think even if they were to do what normal big bands do and get rid of the other stuff, the meeting and show would still cost you 260-300 in the end. In a perfect world they should treat everyone at this type of pre party to a full classy dinner, like a nice steak and potato or fish, whatever. That might up the value food wise

Re: Mandatory VIP/Czar Experience (Official)
I remember at the New Bedford show how there wasnt many tables, they were kinda bar-style i guess because they were standing room only. The bar was cheap and had reasonable prices, and my favorite was the bowl of doritos that I ate most of, other than that the party was pretty cool. I think it's probably just that the venue sucked and just poorly planned the party or something

Re: Mandatory VIP/Czar Experience (Official)
At the show I went to, the party had some limited seating like couches and a few chairs, as they were part of the venue area itself. Otherwise, it was just really tall tables that you could rest your drink, etc. on and most people just stood around. As for the drinks, nothing was free unless you found a water fountain. Water, soft drinks, etc. were about $5 each and I have no clue what the alcoholic beverages cost. Ultimately, I just bought a soft drink, anyway. The food was not very good at all. It only consisted of tiny bags of Hot Cheetos (not even regular or different flavors of Cheetos, or any other chips, period) and a few different kinds of Walmart Bakery cookies and brownies. I actually laughed at this because my last experience tasting a Walmart Bakery cookie wasn't so good. Why's that? Because their cookies just taste horrible.
Still, I didn't expect to eat anything there and so I ate just before I went (I highly recommend that to everyone). And besides, I would've happily paid any amount just to meet my hero. Greatest moment of my life!

Re: Mandatory VIP/Czar Experience (Official)
Can anyone who has been to one of this years' shows tell me how long the wait usually is after the show for the meet and greet if you purchase a czar ticket?
Also, all the czar meet and greets for this year are still after the show, right? I'm assuming this is the case seeing as last year's PRE show meet and greets were only for the early shows on the nights where Al was doing two in a row and he's not doing any two back to back shows in the same night THIS year, right?
I also noticed some VIP/Czar concert goers were wearing berets. Are those only given to czars like the t-shirts were last year or can you buy them from the merchant table?

Yes, definitely eat before you go. They don't serve food at the VIP party and there's only 30 minutes from the end of the party until the start of the show, so really not enough time to grab anything and get to your seat.
You don't wait that long. Expect to wait about 15-20 minutes, maybe a little longer in some venues. Basically it's just long enough for Al to take a shower and say hello to his guests. You should expect to be done in about 30-45 minutes max. Signings are after the show. Berets are part of the Czar package only (not VIP, and not for sale at the merch booth). They replaced the t-shirt.
