I love how this forum is sometimes like "Al look so hot |) " and other times we talk about how he helps us cope with depression, anxiety, ect. You guys are probably the best internet friends I've ever had (we are all friends here, right?) because whenever I mention Al to my other friends, they get annoyed and mad. But now I have you guys, and we can fangirl over Al all we want.

Also, THIS GIF, OH MY GOD, I THINK HIS SHIRT IS FULLY UNBUTTONED :oo |)

That is the best gif ever. Is it me or does the lighting behind him kind look like fire? Just me? OK...anyways, all the ladies and Moose are friends here. We fully get your situation as a lot of us are in the same boat. Once you post here you can never leave. Take Nathan (BullMoose) for example. He only planned on posting to buy a tour shirt. Then Alicia distracted him with cookies while the rest of us Moose tied...I mean we bonded on a deep meaningful level and now he is our official YankiDude.

I love reading all of you guys' personal stories. It's always interesting to see how Al has affected everyone.

I can't say Al ever helped to fight a depression/anxiety/etc, because when I was having a bad time at school and could have used the "it's fine to be different" message, I didn't speak English that well yet  . I only found out about Al when I was a rather happy adult (in my case, it definitely gets better!). I think the most profound effect he had on me is shaping my musical taste. He introduced me to the classics and some less known musicians, and I tend to believe my taste is much more refined now

Awww you guys make such a lovely community! I really like it here already. I hope to stay around and get to know you all a bit better.

I first discovered Al when I was going through some anxiety issues as a teen, too. He made me laugh so much, and I remember my dad saying he hadn't heard me laugh like that in ages. I didn't become a big fan until recently though (I really regret that!). And although I cope with my anxiety an awful lot better than I used to, Al is still a big inspiration to me: I admire how he is never afraid to be himself and how much he has achieved in doing so. He's taught me to embrace my 'weirdness'! I don't get to talk about him a lot though. My friends asked about how the concert went but they don't have any idea who he is... And that's why I'm enjoying being here so much! So thanks, everyone!

And OMG that chest hair!!

Oh, and Capybara, I must ask, is your Big Zam quote in your signature from Game Grumps?

Well some of the newbies to the forum probably haven't heard my Al story, although it isn't that much more special than any other story. I was picked on a LOT in 6th, 7th, and most of 8th grade, to the point where I literally had no friends. Al was kinda that friend that I never had. Many of my "friends" turned on me, but I knew AL and his music weren't going anywhere. He helped me through a lot of bullying as well. I would look forward to listening to his music which I guess made it easier.

I've shared this photo so many times, but this picture was probably the most important moment of all of my bullying and depression and stuff. This was my first time meeting Al, and I was 12 years old (6th grade). It was at that moment that I showed everyone who has ever turned on me or who had ever picked on me, who was really on top of the world. (I was also crying on Al's shoulder in this photo.)
So yeah, I act like the big grampa of the bullied Yankochicks, but it's pretty much only because I can relate, and I don't want anyone to ever feel how down or bad I felt.

Indeed. Are you fan as well?
