Would we recognize him immediately? Based JUST on that sorta warm, fuzzy feeling we get off knowing him so well (in a way)? <3
I'm not even sure I get the question, because how could I not recognize in the video

..? Face+voice=unmistakable. Maybe it would take a second to recognize him in these pictures above, but no more than a second. Only someone who vaguely remembers him as "that curly goofy guy" wouldn't recognize him.
Anyway, I don't find him in this outfit much of a drooling material, mainly because moustaches are very big turn off for me (never cared for "classic Al" look, it even saddens me a little, he could have been such a pin-up boy

), and as much as I'm concerned, only dark haired men should be allowed to have any facial hair

(I liked Al's post-lasik beard

).

I did, too. Still do. He grows it back sometimes. This pic is 9 years old, but I love the way he's looking over the top of those Ray-Bans

Ray-Bans are sunglasses, or did you already know that? He really should advertise. What a great model!

I know, Patti- this is why I said Al can rock ANY kind of lenses. Sunglasses, regular glasses, Ray-Bans, anything! 8D

hehe, okay, but I don't see where you said ANY kind.

It's the truth, though.

You think I was crying? PSHHH girlies I was FREE like a stay at the Albequerque Holiday Inn with a complimentary snorkel. OK, so I WAS a bit angry and feeling used and thrown away and stuff, but that didn't last long, thanks to a certain Weird someone. <333
i've been lurking for awhile and had to register to reply to this because i had the same experience! i was in a long-distance relationship and right after i drove almost a thousand miles to spend my vacation with him, i found out he was cheating on me.
I'm a newbie Yankochick.

before Mandatory Fun made its debut, i knew of White & Nerdy and Amish paradise and that was about it. so i had a treasure trove of awesomeness and hilarity to discover! whenever i felt like my heart was breaking i would listen to his albums, watch some of the tour DVDs, cry with laughter at his mock celebrity interviews (and squeal fangirlishly and repeatedly go "awwww he's adorable!" while watching actual interviews with him

). Several of his songs made me literally (yes, literally! :p ) snort because i was laughing so hard.
Al's combination of ADORABLE looks, sweet personality that makes sugar jealous and genuine, ginormous heart and talent was THE perfect reminder for me of the sweetness in the world and how there's so much more of it than I could imagine.
(How could I be unhappy just 'cause of one stupid dude? An Al is in the world!
)
yes! same here!

Terpsichore, THANK YOU for posting that because
I was Alouette!!
A fellow lurker just like you, I was so shy posting here at that time. Having just come out of that lousy experience (so similar to yours- I'm so sorry!!

), I was nervous if it was okay to be a Yankochick (the term hadn't even been invented yet XD) as emotional and love-wracked as I am, and I kept a secret identity for a while.
Only very recently I got brave and decided I wanted to be myself, and show my Al artwork around and maybe make some nice Al fan friends on the way, too. <3
I react the SAME way as you do to interviews, and all. <3 gosh he is just too much <3
Oddly enough, I gave that old scoundrel of a boyfriend another chance when he came crawling back to me some months ago.
In a total deja vu, again I had the experience of discovering him to be even nastier a jerk than I thought he was the first time around...
And again I found solace, freedom, humor and love in Al all over again. <333 It's funny how Al is always there for us girls, time after time.

i do like the new name; it's pretty much impossible to go wrong with sailor moon + polkas!

always a good decision, being yourself!

(& i must look for some of your artwork; is it on this site?)

i'm sorry you went through all that.

thumbs down to cheaters and users and manipulators!
i find it fascinating that people can inspire and have a profound effect on others without ever even knowing it. perhaps i should start a new topic if there isn't one already, i'm curious to know if/how Al and his work have inspired other people on here - whether musically/artistically, or personally, or whatever else.
i should probably post some eye candy here too, since this is the drool topic! but with 131 pages of material, and with me being a newbie fangirl, i don't think i've got any Al pics that everyone hasn't already seen!

I've never had that kind of experience (upside of being forever alone), but whenever I have one of those "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" moments, Al serves as a perfect proof that humans as a species still have hope
