It really was the ideal episode to end on. I've watched it a few times now. Even without the amazing songs, the interview is solid. Love it.

This last interview was by far the best so far. I LOVED the musical parts; never thought Al would bring out an old Food Medley-exclusive song for a YouTube video. My favorite part was Al repeatedly tapping the breather button on the accordion for "Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung." Hilarious.

Speaking of which, I took the liberty of making an mp3 clip of just the "Avocado" performance. If anyone wants it, feel free to PM me.

For those who missed my post in the Medford review, I talked to Al about the next season of Face To Face last night. He said that there were no plans for a second season, at this time, and seemed pretty disappointed. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Aw, that's too bad. :( Well, maybe an even better opportunity will come up... fingers crossed!! I love his acting and script writing so much!

For what it's worth, I spoke to Al just a few days earlier and asked him a very similar question. His answer to me was a little different. He said he doesn't know if he will be able to do a second season, he really hopes so, but it's a lot of work to find the clips and put everything together. He seemed hopeful that there could be a second season sometime. This was, however, before the final episode aired, so perhaps he got some news from Chris Hardwick after he spoke to me that changed the story.

If there isn't a second season, I will be disappointed. I really enjoyed the first season, and it was great that Al had the freedom to "interview" so many different celebrities. I do understand that it was a lot of work for Al, though, and my preference is always that he devote time to recording the next album. Given that completing the first season prevented him from returning to the studio when he wanted to, I understand if the second season is put on hold for a while or simply doesn't happen.

It's also possible that this season of Face to Face corresponds with the release of Alpocalypse, and interest surrounding a second season would increase when he has a new album ready to promote. After all, that is how he has handled releasing these fake interviews in the past.

I'm all for Al shifting concentration to album 14; in fact, I'm pretty sure Al will try to use the breaks between/after the tour to record the originals.

As for another season, maybe Nerdist will invite him back when the next album (or Internet Leaks #2?) drops.

Also, remember that Nerdist is now merged with a corporate entity now. Perhaps they are the ones who pulled the plug..
