I don't know. I really liked some of the "stupid" questions ("CEREAL!!!"). Keep in mind that most of what's "very interesting info" for us, would go way over the head of any casual fan (or non fan) who was just attending the event because it was featured on Ustream.

How is Al going to make new fans, then?

I did like that he plugged AlFest a couple of times :great:

It was actually awesome to know that none of us, including Al, had anything better to do than watch an almost-50 year old genius spend half an hour being mostly silent. That's dedication, people! YEAH!

No, I'm kidding, but it was amazing just be know it was live and he was willing to spend his time with us.

But that takes away from the personal "chat" aspect. I liked when he mentioned how "interesting" it must be watching him read. In reality, it is kind of interesting- it's like a regular webcam chat, not some celebrity answering prescreened questions that some random person picked out. Instead, it's Al responding to things he's reading on the spot.

Same! I laughed really hard when he started yelling about the microphone and such. Scared my mom, though!

Perhaps not a moderator because I do understand where Kristine is coming from and how it does sort of take away from the experience. I also agree with Alejandra's love of the stupid questions that were really funny. Maybe have a certain time to enter questions for the first half of the show (Say, ask questions a day before and they'd be saved somewhere) and for the second half, have a free-for-all.

I think the best moderator would be Al himself (as in, copying and pasting questions that interest him from the prior-to-show posts) but that, of course, would be yet another claim on his valuable time, when he's already giving us a lovely large chunk of it.

Personally, I was most thrilled by the fact that they have listened to Harry Potter audio books in the car... because I sent one of those to them when Nina was born. It struck me at the time as a really goofy baby gift, but Suzanne, having JUST had Nina, somehow hadn't gotten around yet to putting the baby things on her Amazon list. :) She sent a very gracious thank you note, but it's always wonderful to find out that a gift actually is enjoyed.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
