I can't believe he didn't like Draining the Lizard! Sure, it gets tasteless at parts, but the sheer absurdity of it all has to make up for it. I couldn't imagine it turning someone off to you guys. It did the exact opposite for me.weirdojace wrote:Hipster, Please! just wrote up a review of our album "Exploding Head Syndrome." Check it out.

It's pretty juvenile but I like performing it. It always gets a lot of laughs. I can see why people would hate it, though, which is why it's tucked away near the end of the album.
Also, the video was absolutely stunning. I'm sad that it didn't get much recognition.

I got bored and made this.
It's a cover of the Ween song "Pumpin' 4 The Man" about a pissed off redneck who works at a gas station.
Pumpin' 4 the Man
Also it's really offensive and you shouldn't hear it.

Re: Nuclear Bubble Wrap: My Parody Band (new song 05/06/11).
Y'know, I will admit, I am sad to hear that Jace and the Band aren't doing parodies anymore, but suffice to say, their originals turn out way better sounding, productionwise than their parodies do, so it's for the best.
Y'know what surprises me most? Seeing Jace evolve from some kid tinkering with Cool Edit Pro and monotonously singing about how he doesn't Know How to Use a Fork to wanting to be a Mongoose when he grows up, to being Racist (Against Devils) and finally Draining his Lizard on a Dead, Gay Wizard (and yes, I meant every word of it!). I've witnessed the birth of Nuclear Bubble Wrap in the summer of 2005 and getting together to quickly release Something Stupid This Way Comes, before one of theirs moved away that summer.
I've lent my talents to them whenever Jace needed someone extra for one of his projects, so in some way, shape or form, it's bittersweet, yet beautiful, witnessing someone's humble beginnings grow into something completely different that still brings me joy, whenever depression looks at me right in the eyes.
The best way I can describe Weirdo Jace transforming into Nuclear Bubble Wrap is similar to Toy Story 3, when Andy was college bound, leaving his favorite childhood toys behind. In my mind, I saw Jace in Andy's place, and I am glad to have witnessed Nuclear Bubble Wrap transend from homebrewed song parodies about Voldemort and Dreamworks animation to original works of art. I don't know how religious you are, Jace, but may God bless you in your endeavours as a musician and just remember that you have a friend in Texas whose got your back 100%.

New song! I know I posted an early rough demo version of this song a few pages back, but this is the completed official version, dangit.
One of my roommates has a pair of Hulk hands. Another one has a ukulele. Somehow that led to this song existing. I'm actually quite proud of this one, and it most likely will eventually have an animated video.
Hulkulele
Kyle Thorne: vocals, acoustic guitar
Jace McLain: backing vocals, electric guitars, keyboards, percussion
Steve Goodie: drums, bass
Cody Seaver: ukulele

"Hulkulele"
Lyrics and music by Jace McLain
I'm giant, I'm strong and the mutant of the town
You know that I'm near when a building tumbles down
But smashing and bashing has never been my goal
Cause really, deep down I got the music in my soul
I'm the Hulk, and I just wanna play the ukulele, oh
But I sulk when the others tell me that I'm crazy, oh
Spider-Man says that I can't cause my hands will crush it flat
I'm the Hulk and I just wanna play the ukulele
So I got up the nerve and went to the music store
And they told me they'd bill me for that broken door
I tried playing one and it was going pretty bad
And expensive objects don't like me when I'm mad
What started as "Hulk strum!" devolved into "Hulk smash!"
I offered some lab coats because I had no cash
At that point I felt like my music dream was done
And for once in my life I felt like the puny one
I'm the Hulk and I just wanna play the ukulele, oh
But I sulk when the others tell me that I'm crazy, oh
Wolverine says that I can't cause my hands will crush it flat
I'm the Hulk and I just wanna play the ukulele
I clear the pools when I swim
I wreck the stage when I dance
Got a lifetime ban from football
And I ripped all my leather pants
But still, I Marvel at the ukulele looking for a sign
And I know I have a song in me that's gonna smash your mind
And I'm angry and I scream and then it makes me feel so green
Then one day I woke up and much to my surprise
There was a giant ukulele right before my eyes
With chrome plated strings and a can of super glue
Along with a Banner that said "To Hulk, Love Bruce"
Now I play through the day and I play into the night
And I play for the army whenever they stop by
So make sure you're watching when my first concert's shown
Cause I'm the most smashing ukulele player ever known
I'm the Hulk and I just wanna play the ukulele, oh
But I sulk when the others tell me that I'm crazy, oh
Don't tell me that I can't or my hands will crush you flat
I'm the Hulk and I just wanna play the ukulele
