I think it is a brillient album, one of his best, but in my personal opinion i dont think it is his best though. My favourite is still Bad Hair Day. Maybe i just need the new album to sink in some more.

Hi, Seva! I LOVE Poodle Hat! I think it's wonderful! Great music, harmonies on the songs are fabulous, some laugh-out-loud stuff on songs! I really needed this cd! *Got some bad news the day I bought it.* The cd cheered me up from the moment I opened up the case! That pic on the cd is too funny! Thanks to Al and TBITB! You guys POLKA! And because of "Genius in France", I've been listening to Frank Zappa this morning! :) I LOVE that song! And Bela's bark in the middle! hehe! Poodle Hat does indeed ROCK! And Al RULES!!!

Really newbie here (post 2) Here is my review

Couch Potato: Like the song. I find it humerous that al would mention too much profanity on an Eminem (SP?) parody. I also like the muppet show reference (Cousinluke on Muppet Central). Too bad about the video. This could hurt Al's carrer.

Hardware store: Well done song. I like the long verse. Don't see much humor in the song though.

Trash day: Personally, I was wondering what al was going to do when I found out about the parody. I think this is the worst of the parodies because of the female chorus not sounding right.

Party at the Leper Colony: Hilarious. Everyline is a pun!!! This is a well done song.

Angry White Boy Polka: My favorite Polka. Well done and hilarious. However, they all sound way too similar to me (the polkas, not the songs).

Wanna B Ur Lovr: I don't like it.

A Complicated Song: the Original, love the new song. All the verses are hilarious.

Why does this always happen to me: This song is great. I wondered if Al had toned down the because the last album was, in my opinion, not violent enough. He didn't.

Ode to a Superhero: Wierd Al seems to be running out of Ideas because this is the second "HUGE" movie he has used for the sorce of the parody in Two Albums. Both were also Parodies of classic songs.

Bob: I BOB DYLAN!!! but I love this song because it is so similar to one of his songs.

Ebay: I like the song, but I think that it is one album too late. If this song had been on RWS, it could have helped his popularity. Now it is just a reminder of he evils of Boy Bands.

Genius in France: Don't know too much about Frank Zappa, but I find this song hilarious. I also liked the tune.

Finally, I like the extras on the CD. This Is overall brilliant. I also like the forum.

In my humble opinion, this ALbum is far different from the other albums, they had very strong parody first and then weaker originals, or vice versa.

Seva, I agree with you that PH is different from the other Albums, but I'm not sure I agree with the reason why. Hmmm... looking at the songlist and thinking about which songs I hit the repeat button for, you may indeed be right. I'm holding off on any ultimate judgement on individual songs because my opinion is changing all the time. I don't know PH well enough to really decide. Some Al songs just take a while to ripen, if you know what I mean.

I am interested, Seva, in how the comedy works for you. This is a very fast paced, wordy album. Since english isn't your first language, do you find it difficult to follow? I know if Al was singing in Russian I'd just have to be content with enjoying the awesome music and great harmonies.

Angry White Boy Polka: I'm a big fan of Als Polkas, this isn't the best one hes done but its still a good one.
I think it's one of the best polkas, but not for the songs chosen to be in it. As usual, I am totally clueless . BUT I love that it has so many different musical styles in it. I'm looking forward to seeing the boys do it live.
Why does this always happen to me:... I really like the "Bah bah bah..." in the chorus

Yeah, me too. I hope no one thinks I'm stupid, but listening to this the first time, I thought "Partridge Family style parody?" I think it was the bah bahs that made me think that.

Genius in France: Im not familiar with Dweezil Zappa

Me neither. But it's Frank that's being referenced. I don't know his stuff either.

Welcome aboard!

That would be more Ben Folds actually (Yes, that guy playing piano on the song). He and his old band did a lot of that "Bah bah" stuff, and the live version of the song "Army" on Ben Folds' live album has the audience doing the "bah bahs"

Although Ben's got some interesting music ideas. Maybe he got that from the Partridge Family.
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

Thanks, Squirrelygirl!

I also love the harmonizing on Hardware Store. It's a prime example of Al's musical genius, and I love how it addresses our ridiculous fascination with the opening of a new megastore.

On the topic of movies, I have yet to see Maid in Manhatten! What is wrong with me?!!

Yeah i agree, The Alternative Polka is definately my favourite "Despite all my rage im still just a rat in cage"

Although i really really do love his Limp Bizkit verse in the new polka!

I'm from England, im never going to be able to see Weird al live, the best thing i got is the live dvd, but no new songs live. grrr.

CD Label: For what unholy reason must I stick my finger in Al's mouth to pick up the CD? Oh well.

Couch Potato: Pure w00tage. I am amazed at all the TV references. "Touched By an Uncle" is pretty funny too.

Hardware Store: While it isn't funny in itself, it's so pointless that it becomes funny. The sudden idea of an automatic circumciser never fails to crack me up.

Trash Day: I figured Al would parody either this or "Baby baby baby baby baby baby..." *however many times it repeats itself* It sounds odd at the beginning, but is good once the actual singing starts.

Party At The Leper Colony: Perhaps it's just me, but the puns are all groaners. That, and it POs the lepers. It's too slow for my taste as well.

Angry White Boy Polka: I love the name and the song. "Chop Suey!" "Bawitdaba" "Youth of the Nation" and "The Real Slim Shady" are all funny. The rest I don't care for (the originals - I like AWBP), other than the wacky "bleep" in "Last Resort."

Wanna B Ur Lovr: Ignoring the spelling, it looks like a funny love song. Looking at the spelling, it looks like a funny song about internet dating. Listening reveals a funny sone filled with bad pickup lines that ruins itself with penis jokes I'd expect from, for instance, Adam Sandler.

A Complicated Song: One of the best on the ALbum. That's all I have to say. Wait, no it's not... I ripped it as an mp3, converted it to a WAV, cut out everything but the rollercoaster part, and am using it as custom ride music in RollerCoaster Tycoon 2.

Why Does This Always Happen To Me?: I agree with MidiBoyGregg. It's funny except for the part about the earthquake. 30,000 deaths is not funny, especially with the joke about missing the Simpsons (even though that's the point). Those from Peru would also find that even more not-funny.

Ode To A Superhero: Another great one.

Bob: Who would have thought of a rhyming song consisting of nothing but palindromes... AND in the style of Bob Dylan? Genius, AND funny.

eBay: The theme song for many people I know.

Genius In France: Sure, it's funny, but it's blatant (OBVIOUS) anti-france stuff... and that's even BEFORE "freedom fries."

Bonus mixes: Nothing more than 6 instrumentals (fun with karaoke?) and 2 vocals-only. Meh...

Photo Gallery: Some are on the insert, but only a few. They're OK...

Lyrics: Fun with karaoke. Hook it up to a projector and sing away! (No, I don't like karaoke).

Home movies: Watch or die.

Highs: The good stuff is among Al's best.

Lows: The bad stuff is among Al's worst.

Overall: Buy it.

I didn't get the line about her clothes making a lot of noise in the drier. Am I just stupid? Why can't I understand what he means by that?!?

Her outfit has too many metal and plastic and generally noisy trinkets on it. If you need a reference outfit, I think the one Jane wears in The Naked Gun (the outfit Frank got her for her honeymoon) would make plenty of noise in the dryer.
