I believe it was something about NBC owning him and some of the other characters. That and Triumph hasnt been funny in years, if ever

Triumph is owned by NBC, and Conan's new show in on TBS.

That's weird. Why a network would ask to own entities associated with someone moving to another network? It just sounds unnecessarily restricting.

Which is precisely why they do it. Why would you let someone take something that was created on your dime and take it somewhere for profit? There are some places that do it, I know Gooodyear let my uncle put his name on a patent for a tire in the 50's and he made a nice profit, but thats the exception to the rule.
