As far as I'm concerned, feel absolutely free to not find school shootings the slightest bit funny. :stern:

My husband was at the show in Konocti Harbor Resort in August of 1997, where Al did actually fall off the stage, while doing the accordion solo of "Syndicated Incorporated"

Tony's Recollection Is:
Al simply walked one step to far, he had the lights in his eyes due to looking up instead of looking down. There was a fence the hight of the stage about a foot away from the stage , Al got wedged between the stage & the fence, with his body all contorted, after a few seconds Al screamed "Drum Solo" and Jim & Steve helped him back up on stage. Al took a minute to tune his accordion, and launched right into "Another One Rides The Bus." A less agile man would have broken his arm, but Al finished the show like a true professional. Though he seemed to be in a considerable amount of pain, and walked with a limp the rest of the night. After the show, while waiting to see if there would be a meet & greet (to make sure he was ok), he noticed a dozen or so people gathered around Ruben and someone asked if Al would be coming out, Ruben replied "He'll be coming out in an ambulance."

When I first heard this story I thought POOR AL!!

An ambulance? Wow. And he still finished the show.

The only thing I can add is that the injury resulting from the fall prevented Al from doing "Like a Surgeon" for the next month, as the "leg behind the head" bit was too much of a strain on where Al hurt himself. Just by coincidence, I was at the first show since the fall where Al performed the song again (the Bloomsburg Fair concert).

Just the fall sounds painful enough. I hate falling, and the stage is so high up at some shows that you wonder if you would break anything. Owie! X* I'm glad Al didn't do LAS too soon after the fall, the strain would be unbearable. I would just be traumatized to see Al fall. Period.

Wow, poor Al. You definitely don't want to leave shows in an ambulance. He is such an inspiring man to finish the show too. Nothing stops Al from giving his all.

He fell down in his "Fat" suit at the famous Halloween show in 2000. He slipped on a wet spot on the stage and fell flat on his back. The stage was wet because he was performing SLN at the time. He fell so hard he actually knocked some lights off the stage!!

Don't worry, he was fine. He got right up and started moshing with Steve!
