Since we've been working on an all-Beatles parody album, we'll most likely finish that up, but afterwards, it's the end of an era for NBW.
Wow, I can't believe it's been 8 years now. Though I will miss your parodies, I understand you will have to mature as a band and will support any direction you guys decide to take, even - shudder - serious music. Just don't go away. The world needs you.

Don't worry, we're not gonna do "serious" music. I just don't want to do song parodies anymore. Our parody output has been slowly decreasing, anyway. Our latest album has 15 tracks and only 4 of them are parodies. My heart's just not into doing them now.

Plus, I feel like more people will see us as a "real" band if our output is entirely original. Nobody looks at a song parody on YouTube and wonders, "oh, what else has this person made?" But as people like Jonathan Coulton and Lemon Demon have proven, if you write funny original songs that resonate with people, they will look into the rest of your catalog. Parodies are a thing where people watch it, laugh, and move on.

Not that I'm doing this because I want to "conform to society" or whatever. I'm just not emotionally invested in writing parodies anymore and I'd like to see this band go into a new direction. I'm done trying to be the next Weird Al. Plus, there's enough geniuses on YouTube with karaoke tracks trying to do that. If anything, I guess I'm more of a TMBG wannabe at this point.

Just start writing songs that make absolutely no sense in the English language. :P

Well, just know that once I'm out on the circuit, you'll have some serious competition. ;)

Re: Hulkulele, are the chords to that something like G, D, Em, something, or am I way off here?

For guitar: Capo on the 2nd fret. Verses are D F#m G A, with a G - A7 turnaround.

Choruses are:
D A Bm E
D A Bm E
G A D Bm
G A Bm A7

Bridge:
G A D Bm
G A D Bm
G A D Bm
G Gm F#sus4 F#

Which, without a capo (if you wanted to play without one, or play on piano or something...) translates to:

Verse: E G#m A B with A - B7 turnaround

Chorus:
E B C#m F#
E B C#m F#
A B E C#m
A B C#m B7

Bridge:
A B E C#m
A B E C#m
A B E C#m
A Am G#sus4 G#

When do we get to hear your Pink Floyd parody! I've heard its epic!

Also, since I'm curious, what's the status of your Beatles parody album? :)

I don't know what most of that means (due to only playing ukulele ever), but thanks for the chords!
