I too am disappointed. Other than W&N, why is all of the other videos frakkin' animated? It's like Al doesn't want to do them, and he's farming out his stuff to Flash animators. I don't like it. Nope, don't like it at all.
If I want to see cheap Flash animation, I can go to Youtube or any 7th grader's computer. With Al, I want quality! He rose the bar with superb writing, follow it through until the end!
People are doing these because they want to. Al's probably not paying these people. He'll support them, but they aren't
real Weird Al videos like we've known in the past. They're fan projects that Al advertises for.

EXACTLY!
I don't mind Al hiring people to do videos for his songs. But if he's gonna do that, then he should make sure they are top of the line in terms of quality. It's sad when amature fan artists can produce much higher quality videos than the people who Al hires.
R Wappin's "Albuquerque"
Lis Vender's "Angry White Boy Polka"
MentalCase's "The Night Santa Went Crazy"
All of those are much much stronger, funnier, and more original than most of the "official" videos from SOL. They follow the music and lyrics, they are very well animated, and they ADD to the song. "Pancreas," WSD, DDTS, and now TitDT are all vastly inferior.

Yes, you said that.
Try loading it in Firefox or IE -- whichever of the two you're not currently in.

I don't think Al's trying to break the bank with these videos. These animators are probably doing him a MAJOR favor to produce these videos. He probably wouldn't be able to get really fantastic animators for what he's paying them. Plus, I actually thought the animation was fairly well done, especially for Flash animation. I'm not that disappointed because I wasn't expecting it to be phenomenal. I pretty much expected it to be what it was. I really don't think it's as bad as some people are saying it is.

I thought WSD really added a
ton to the song. It's my favorite video on the album.
As for Pancreas and DDTS, while they weren't making much of an effort to be funny, they were artistic. DDTS was beautifully animated. Pancreas was ... a failure, yes, I have nothing more to say about that one.
As for TitDT, I thought it really captured the feeling of Trapped in the Closet. It portrayed the parody in a similar light as the original without appearing too goofy, adding to the almost deadpan and sarcastic delivery of the song.

I was a good, well-animated video. I would have liked to see a little more enthusiasm in the characters... they need some Zoloft.

The entire song is supposed to be frustrating / draining to the characters, though. I think Doogtoons did a good job portraying the casual nature of the event.
