Man, VH1 is mean. If you arent going to be nice about it, then why would you have a TV show? P:(P
Complete jerks at the MTV/ VH1 corporation. For shame.

I feel really bad for that guy. Those chimps at VH1 seem to have turned downright mean.

Hmm, maybe if you could get something in writing saying they won't do the same thing they did to that Peter Pan guy? It could be risky, but you would never know unless you went ahead. I haven't seen any of the shows, so I don't know if they were mean to any other people. Maybe you can mention your concerns if you call them back.

Well first of all, if this is good news, congratulations!
Just make it clear from the start that you have concerns about how you'll be presented, this way they can't feign ignorance should the crap hit the fan. If they do try to assure you that they'll play nice, then you politely insist on getting something in writing from them.
Of course, I am not a lawyer (although I have argued in front of many a judge), so if you have something along the lines of a family lawyer at your disposal you might want to ask them for advice.

How about you ask Al, Bermuda or Jay if you have the opportunity....do they want that kind of publicity... at this particular time? i.e. end of this tour....2 years before next????
If they do, thinking it would be a good thing, and it turns out VH1 make you appear foolish, remember..."There is no greater love than to "lay down one's life" for a friend." (in this case, figuratively). So, what is at stake - your identity? Image? Reputation?
The ones who really matter will still love you and respect you. We know the real Fred, not the skewed character they might create. Do you care what the world thinks?
Considering "VH1 Loves Al!" as stated on the Mothership, do you think Al's fan will be treated differently than the Ninja Turtle Lady? Consider how Al would feel if they do make you appear foolish. How would he feel knowing he was the reason you were exploited?
I say, ask Al....he knows VH1, maybe knows Jim? I respect Al's intelligence and judgment. If you're pressed for time, ask Bermuda...he might be more available and be able to give feedback quicker, even if only via email.
Whatever you do, remember Peter Pan said he got things in writing and it made no difference.
Fred - you're between a rock and a harder place. Good luck, friend!
