Does anybody know how new Steve's 8-string bass is? I play a six-string myself, and when I saw that black clothed pic of him with his big 8-stg, I liked him more than I already did. I want his autograph next time I go to a show.

I don't know about the guitar, but Stephen's a real sweetie, and frequently

does come out after shows.

You might also want to check out Steve's website for info on his own CD's. He's a wonderful musician in his own right, and I highly recommend it.

I was at a show once with two friends, and before the show the two of them were standing around the gates to the bus area. There they saw steve (I don't know where I was), and one of them asked him "Where's Al!?", and steve said I don't know and walked away. When I found out, I almost slapped my friend for being inconsiderate, especially to Steve. Worthy of note, that friend is no longer interested in Al. I could slap him again.

Al does a dead on Dylan in "Bob", very well nuanced.

The fans on the discussion forums over at bobdylan.com mostly seem to like "Bob" too.

Ode to a Superhero makes me want to see Spiderman (yes, I'm the one
person on the planet who hasn't had a chance to see it yet. )

That's okay. Hehe. I'm one of the few people on the planet who hasn't seen Titantic. I still haven't seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Though, shove something sci-fi and comic booky in front of me and I'm there. ;)

There was a story about two weeks concerning a woman who sold a Ziploc baggie containing... Paul McCartney's flu germs. It seems she met him and he was sick and she got sick shortly thereafter so she did what any rational person would do - she sneezed in a bag and sold it on the Internet.

Ain't capitalism grand?

:D I'd never think I'd be feeling sorry for Al, but it must be so hard to be a parodist for a living when real life keeps getting ahead of you.

WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME?-- Sometimes I think Al's got a copy of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for mental disorders, and he's steadily working his way through it. The music's not at all similar, but thematically it has a lot in common with "Good Old Days." Tuneful, classy music undergirding the tale of a moral monster. I love it.

We've discussed this before, but Good Old Days just really creeps me out. There is something about the part where he can still hear her screams that is just chilling. I want to like it, because Al doing James Taylor is just too delicious to not like. Yet I don't often listen to it. But the new one is every bit as cold blooded and sociopathic, yet I love it. And I can't figure out why they strike me so differently.

Hi, newbie here, just thought i would have my first post as a review of his new CD.

Couch Potato: I wasn't too sure about this song at first but after a couple of listens i liked it. Too bad theres not going to be a video, but yeah i like this song.

Hardware Store: One of my favourite tracks off the album. Has a great chorus and the verses are very good. Big smile on my face everytime i hear "Look at all this stuff" cause i know that verse is about to start. Cool sound effects and stuff as well, Great song.

Trash Day: Hmmm, i hate the original so im finding it really hard to get into this song, i should try give it a go, but i know Party at the leper colony is on after so i find it really really hard not to skip this song, but i always do. ill give it a go sometime soon.

Party at the Leper Colony: Very funny song "Pretty soon she was completely disarmed" haha. I love this song, another one of my favourites off the album. Very very good both musically and lyrically and some very interesting puns. Very good.

Angry White Boy Polka: I'm a big fan of Als Polkas, this isn't the best one hes done but its still a good one. I was familiar with all the songs he included in this polka so it was very funny to hear them in a Polka, cracks me up each time the Limp Bizkit bit comes in. "My way, my way, *beep beep* or the highway." Very cool.

Wanna B Ur Lovr: I think theres been a lot of dissing this song. I dont mind it, its got some great lines in it. But sometimes i skip this song, sometimes i dont, just depends. Not bad, Not great.

A Complicated Song: When i found out he was doing a parody of Complicated i was looking forward to it, and i wasn't dissapointed. Very funny song, 2nd verse/chorus is the best. Kinda of reminds me of "Everything you know is wrong" with 3 different situations in one song. I really liked it.

Why does this always happen to me: A good song, some mild violent lyrics which is always good, haha. Nice song, very good lyrics and a good song as well. I really like the "Bah bah bah..." in the chorus

Ode to a Superhero: Not to familiar with the original, nor am i to familiar with Spiderman, but i knew enuf about either subject to really like this song. I would have enjoyed this song a lot more if i knew more about Spiderman but i still like this song, and after listening to the song i now know more about spiderman. Good Song.

Bob: I wasn't sure about this song, until i looked at the lyrics. Aaah, now i see. I didn't find this song very funny like the others, but it is a very clever song, and a great tune to go with it, so its still very listenable. Altho sometimes i get the urge to skip to Ebay...

Ebay: Oh how bad the original is. Weird als version tho, i like. Altho its embarracing walking around humming to that song, haha. My parents use Ebay and i know all about ebay so i found this song extremely. The most funny thing about this song, is that it is ALL true. My favourite parts are "Shatners old Toupee", "Slightly Damaged Golf Bag" and "klenex used by Dr Dre. Big smile on my face during this song. Great song. I wanna get a Dukes of Hazzard ash tray.

Genius in France: Im not familiar with Dweezil Zappa so i can't really appreciate this song as much as people who are familiar. But its still a cool song. A really good way to end the album.

The cd extras are good, the home movies are really funny and the pictures, mixis are a nice touch. Very interesting Cd Cover art.

Overall i really like this album, im always listening to it, even tho i usually end up skipping 1 or 2 songs, but i usually skip a couple of songs each time i listen to a weird al album. I dont think its his best album, but its a really good album. Some unforgettable tracks on there. Brillient!

Folks, I got very interesting thing to say about Poodle Hat

Post by Seva »

Hey, i just came up with something. Poodle Hat would be my favorite album. :onfire: :onfire: :onfire: :onfire: :onfire:

In my humble opinion, this ALbum is far different from the other albums, they had very strong parody first and then weaker originals, or vice versa. But this keep all songs on the same, very high level, it is very good musically, not to mention lyrics (pure genius). Weird Al is back with more excellent music and unbridled hilarity!!! (LOL and stuff. ) And how do you think???

SEVA.

Poodle Hat ROCKS!!!
