This is a completely untrue statement. UHF was shot on film, which is substantially higher quality than HD. In theory, if the right amount of attention was devoted toward the remastering process, this should look as sharp as any HD film (depending on storage conditions of the master film reels since 1989).
Ok, you're right, I should have said "Unfortunately a movie such as UHF will only ever look so much better in HD". No one is every going to invest the amount of time into this as they would in say, Gone with the Wind.

I thought the bulk of the movie looked fine on Blu-Ray, but did anyone else feel that the "Money for Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies" sequence was not quite as sharp as it seemed it should be? Was it originally a standard-def element? Usually CGI looks great in HD, but the whole video felt a bit soft.

Before I'm going to spend money again, can somebody confirm (or deny) that the Blu-Ray's are Region Free?

*hopes*

<_< :( :( ;(
Never mind, I can't order it in Europe at all. So my guess is that it's Region A only. Well, the only thing I can do is download it illegal I guess, I mean.. I want to buy it but when I don't get a fair chance to do so, what else you can expect from me?

Can't you just buy a region-free (or Region 1) BluRay player?

I could try and find a secondhand Blu-Ray player and make it region free. But I have to buy another TV as well then, I don't have HDMI inputs anymore #firstworldproblems.

Nah, I did look into it but it's quite hard to find a Blu-Ray player which can be made region free (it's close to impossible to find a region free one new). And even if I find one, it will cost me quite a lot of money plus I have to order (and transport) the two BluRays.

I wish that whoever decided to market the recent Weird Al Blu-Rays, actually thought of the non-USA folks who are willing to buy (and already pay extra because of transporting it all the way to their continent). I mean, all the DVD's are region free so why suddenly the change to make BluRay's region locked and blocking out fans?

It's always jarring to see a post by you.

I'm definitely excited for this Blu-Ray. Hope someone gets it for me for Christmas.

So what deleted scenes are included?

Same as the DVD, or new stuff?

Same as the last one, as I've heard

It's exactly the same reel as last time, with Al introducing each clip and commenting on how stupid/unnecessary they were.
