Here's the interview from KTLA this morning. Warning: Hosts were very un-knowledgable.

I didn't think the KTLA peeps were ignorant of Al at all, especially not Sam Rubin, who's a pretty savvy entertainment reporter. He was just doing his TV-hostly job and feeding Al questions that would let Al talk about the shows & album he's plugging, and that would put people who ARE unaware of Al a little bit in the picture. That's television.

Edited to add: And besides, this is Los Angeles. The KTLA studio is a whole mile away from the Capitol Records building (you know, My Bologna?) How could the long-time entertainment reporter of a TV station in Hollywood NOT know about Weird Al? They probably run into each other at parties all the time, if not at the grocery store.

First of all, the album's name is Alpocalypse. Second, the Pantages show is not on Friday. One of the other hosts asking, "What was your first big one?" bugged me, as well. The technical people had snafu's by not playing the video and then playing the same clip over and over. And the whole Rock Hall of Fame thing was pretty awkward.

Anyway, it's nice to see the Anaheim and Hollywood shows getting a lot of promotion.

They were not as bad as i thought they would be. They had a few mistakes but there have been worse interviews. But when i first started watching i thought they were the paople that Joel McHale makes fun of on The Soup all the time. I think i just have my own assumptions that all news people in LA are like that. I'm sure i am wrong but its my own vision of LA ;)

Welcome :) . So far i just read it. I didnt see that there was the audio until i got to the bottom and i started listening but my daughter was being a loud crazy child so i decided to wait. Was there more questions than what was written or was it basicallly the same?

There was definitely more than what was written. It was a 42m interview.

Thought one of the most interesting subjects brought up was a new Al-TV.

What did Al say about a new AL-TV? I really wish people would share news with the forum rather than just allude to it.

Al said it was still a possibility for Alpocalypse, but they're trying to work things out. He said there's a bit of difficulty with the interview permissions and that the special would probably only be a half-hour long this time. At least, that's what I remember from it.
