Oh right. I hadn't counted weirdalrocks's vote because he posted it just as I was typing the correction post.
Sorry, weirdalrocks, you know I love you! :bloem:
Anyway, that settles it. The finals match will be posted late tonight / early tomorrow when I get home from a crazy funtimes party.
Incidentally, this is the first time in a WHILE that we've had a 16 v 15 match-up in the finals.
After this winner is determined, we will play through the last of our nine brackets which according to my formula is the WORST OVERALL Bracket. And when you see what it is, I think you'll all agree.

Aha! "It's a British word!" is my favorite excuse when we don't understand something on my English class (my teacher is American, but the textbook is British, which makes the whole thing it oddly confusing).ludovica64 @ January 10, 2009 11:41 pm wrote: Just about EVERYBODY in the UK Ale...

If I'm not mistaken, this will be the "Songs About Songs" category, half of which consists of polka medleys, a quarter of which is made of short songs like "Let Me Be Your Hog" and TWAS Theme, and the remaining being almost inevitable to be voted out of this competition in the first round. Yeah, it is a relatively week grouping of songs.TMBJon @ January 10, 2009 11:57 pm wrote: After this winner is determined, we will play through the last of our nine brackets which according to my formula is the WORST OVERALL Bracket. Right. If there were no brackets, I would guess that several songs from the Songs About Songs bracket would make it to Weird Al's Worst. But there are a lot of clunkers in this group and one of them has to win. That's why I saved it for last. Should be very contentious.

This is a bit off topic, but isn't interesting how we all love the polkas and look forward to them with as much as, if not more, anticipation than any of the other new songs on an album, and if there wasn't a polka on a new album we'd all be pretty disappointed. Yet whenever there is a ranking of songs, it's very rare that any of us rank the polkas very high at all. And in competitions like this, it's naturally assumed that polkas will do poorly.
