It has it's own topic already, but they don't want any spoilers, so we have to keep it here for another few days...TMBJon @ July 10, 2009 06:44 pm wrote: Should someone break all of this Skipper Dan chat into its own topic?
Also, we definitely know by now that "Skipper Dan" is going to be one of the new "Internet Leaks" singles, but how do we know THAT one is going to be the one coming out on Tuesday? It could be "Ringtone" or a third thing we haven't heard anything about in the slightest and maybe "Skipper Dan" could get released in August...just sayin'...all the songs are recorded by now and who knows?...maybe Al could decide to release something totally different just to throw us off track...
...but even I know there's a very slim chance of that happening, and besides, we won't know for sure until Al most likely makes an announcement on his MySpace blog on Monday (if "Craigslist" and WYL are any indication)...so there...

HA! SOMEONE has the spoiler forum password *and* enough reach to get to this fellow to remove the leaked info. The Doctor @ July 10, 2009 09:45 pm wrote: Anyway, looks like he's removed them by now.![]()
Either way, as my friend Jon would say: "The cat is out of the box, AL!!!!"

I love this. It's like we're living our own soap-opera (yes, I watch very little TV nowadays, and I'm far too easily amused). I'm sad I didn't think to get a screencap.
I only hope they weren't too hard on the guy. I love decapitation as much as the next person, but I didn't mean it literally when I said his head needs to roll.

Al said in an interview a while back that (at the time, anyway) Nina's favorite song was "In The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room," which she would play CONSTANTLY around the house.
That song comes from the Enchanted Tiki Room, which is right next to the Jungle Cruise. It's more than likely that Al has taken his daughter to Disneyland five or six times by now - they'd certainly avoid the roller coasters, but the Jungle Cruise is fine for all ages and heights.
If this is indeed the case (and based on the artwork, it seems VERY likely - excellent detective work there), then I'm thrilled. Al's never done a song about Disneyland, but it's JUST the sort of oddly wonderful pop culture ephemera he WOULD write about. Maybe it's a song about a Jungle Cruise skipper who gets tired of such boring work and heads out into more adventurous waters, like Pirates and Splash Mountain.
Maybe the style parody target is more directly linked to the park? Maybe it's a style parody of Disney songs, or pirate shanties?

Just gonna stand there and watch me burn...that's alright because I like the way it hurts...
