Sorry you had such a bad time, WAYF27. Glad you got to meet a few people, and that you still enjoyed the concert.
Mike, uh, thanks so much for being so descriptive about that first pic...
Nice pics with Al.

You know the worst thing about going to an Al show is the immediate desire to go to as many more shows as possible. I just don't think any of us would be able to take it if he changed the set list nightly! Last night was a complete blast. Unfortunately the only other one we'll be able to make is 5 1/2 hours away in Greensburg. I'm the Dave half of Dave and Terri that Alnite27 was referring to and as always it was great to talk to him and his mom after his 50th show.
Well back in March I threw $20 into a slot machine at the Showboat and back in May I get a postcard saying I can get a free room and $20 food credit and the offer expired today, so going to this show was a no-brainer. Referring back to another post from earlier, our room was supposedly a remodeled room in a brand new building and we had hair from the previous guests in the tub, the bed was hardly made, and the furniture looked like it was dragged down the hall to the room. We were also able to hear stomping feet above us and toilets flushing all over the place. This place definitely wasn't worth paying more than nothing for. I can easily see why so many of these casinos are hurting. Half the restaurants were closed there too.
I wish we had arrived there earlier because we ate at the HOB and got there too late for the pass the line offer when you eat there. We ended up toward the back of standing room but had a great view of the stage and had no clue there were unruly meatheads there until a couple of guys barged their way to the front during White and Nerdy. They left as soon as the encore started though. Al still managed eye contact with both of us a few times. We also noticed the glitch during WBUL but they plowed right through it. The last time I saw something screwy like this was at the Beacon Theater back in 96 when the backing track to Melanie started during another song. The track screwed up again during the actual song as well. Last night Bermuda left his kit several times and went to talk to each member of the band between songs. Whatever was wrong, we sure couldn't tell the rest of the way.
Speaking of Bermuda, we were lucky enough to catch him after the show before they kicked us out so it was great to talk to him again for the first time in years.

Thanks for the review, Dave. Sorry your accomodations weren't up to par. All that noise would drive me insane. Glad you had a decent view of the stage, and I'm glad you got to talk to Jon, too. He's a nice guy. Only 7 more days until my show! I'm getting more and more excited about it, reading all these reviews.
Yay!

Oh no worries on the accommodations, we got what we paid for! Actually, the bed was extremely comfortable and after 3+ hours on our feet, we slept great! I should have included that as well just to be fair to the place! Oh, and just as I figured, I just got off ticketmaster scoping out tickets to the Scranton show.algonacchick @ Jul 11 2008, 04:46 AM wrote: Thanks for the review, Dave. Yeah, well I guess free rooms that look crappy, yet have comfy beds will pass, eh? LOL! Good luck as far as getting to another show. I so wish I could tour chase, but, alas, I'm stuck here in MI. At least my only concert this leg will be quite memorable, with front row seats and passes.

finally got around to posting something here.
the show was great. it was my third, and the other two were at the westbury music fair, so this was a lot more fun than those (which were great as well). i much prefer standing and being able to get close instead of assigned seating.
i was directly in the center with only one person between me and the barricade.
which meant i got soaked by the smells like nirvana water and i was able to get a setlist. (i actually caught the nirvana cup as well but didn't feel like holding it the rest of the show so i gave it to the kid next to me).
i was also really happy that he played why does this always happen to me cus i saw bob last time around.
i didn't stick around to see if there'd be a meet n greet cus i had a 3.5 hour drive home, but that was fine with me.
so it was definitely the best al show i've been to (and probably one of the best shows i've ever been to in general). i'm not sure i'll be able to go back to seeing him in a seated venue next time he comes around.

And Dave (of Dave and Terri fame) were you talking to Bermuda in front of the merch table? If so I totally interrupted your conversation and I am sorry. I just wanted to personally thank Jon for my pass. If it wasnt you, disregard.
