If Al and TBITB are going into the studio to record the rest of the album this month (as has been said), then I believe a March release date would be very likely, since there has always been a two-month gap between the last recording sessions and the release date.

If TWAS DVD was recently announced, I can't imagine it being out until May at the absolute earliest, and I agree that it would be best for Al to wait until after the summer leg of the tour, as I can't imagine him putting recording commentaries ahead of tour rehearsals.

Unless the commentary has already been recorded. Al could have held back on the announcement a little bit, just in case something fell through. I cant count how many shows have been announced for dvd that were pushed back or cancelled altogether.

I'm pretty sure the commentary has already been recorded. Actually come to think of it, Shout Factory probably began talking with Al about this months ago. Or maybe Al approached them, I dunno.

I would have to agree that is very likely that at least something has been done for the DVDs. I would have to think that work on them is already well under way. I do think that they still won't be released until May at the earliest, though.

That's very true, but I think both Shout and the show itself are small enough entities to avoid those kind of delaying problems.

I'm sure the news wasn't posted on the site until everything was completely signed and guaranteed...look at how Jon treats the posting of new concert dates, for example. There's very little jumping of the gun when it comes to news on the site.

It's probably very possible that some or all of the commentaries are already recorded, but since those are traditionally handled by the DVD label and we don't know how long this set has already been on the drawing board, who knows for sure.

One would hope Al would find time to work on the DVD while he's also finishing up Album 12, since touring seemed to have gotten in the way of the production and release of TUVC...but of course, this could also all go back to the possibility of waiting until the after the first leg of the tour. Again, who knows......um, besides Al of course. :)
