Wow, those are great stories, Carlotta! I couldn't even imagine seeing Steve sitting next to me during a show! That's so cool! Funny what they did to Jon. Those guys really know how to have fun! That's why I love them all so much!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

What a cool thread! I have not had time to read all the stories but I will be reading them all in the days to come.
My first and only concert so far..... It was in Pueblo, CO at the CO state fair. Al was singing "I'll Sue Ya" and a couple was walking along in front, to go to the restrooms or something, who knows? Anyway Al saw them and started following them on stage, bending down and pointing right at them and singing, "I'll sue ya, I'll take all your money, I'll sue ya if you even look at me funny" and they never even noticed!

Uh, I do sometimes. Especially at concerts that sell beer.addictedtoyankovic @ Sep 10 2007, 05:04 AM wrote: LOL.... What kind of person GETS UP during an Al concert... they SHOULD be sued!!!!!

But I try to time it for the longer video/costume change breaks. I wouldn't get up and leave while Al was actually singing!

"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

I have favorite moments from the 3 concerts I've seen so far. At the first one at the Roanoke Civic Center in 2000, Al came up the aisle nearest me during OMM and on his way down, he stopped so a little girl 2 or 3 rows in front of me could snap his picture. She was so excited!
At the Glen Allen show, having the "big finish" to WBUL sung to me was definitely a highlight. After "Albuquerque", as Al and the band were leaving, I stuck out my arm and waved. Al, who was at the back of the stage at this point, stopped, bent down so he was eye-level with me, and waved back.
Then at the Carowinds show, getting "the stare" during "Albuquerque" was a lot of fun! Then after the show, while some of us were standing by the fence where the tour bus was, Al came out and although he looked like all he wanted to do was get on the bus and get some rest, he had us put our fingers through the holes in the chainlink fence and then he went down the line and touched our fingertips as he went. That might not seem like a big deal to those who've been fortunate enough to meet him but for me, it's the closest I've been to him so far!
