So, "like" is probably too strong a word too.

How about "reluctant respect for talent and a certain craftsmanship even though applied to the service of rancor, self-aggrandizement, and other dispiriting purposes?"

Okay, that's more than one word.

Wasn't that also the plot of "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo?"

ELECTROS RULE THE DANCE FLOOR NOW SUCKA!!!!

No it was BREAKDANCERS breakin their way out of the ghetto to save a building from being torn down. Hence Ice Cube's "This is not a party, this is a demonstration/ to try to counteract the city council's legislation"

Ok, back to the charts. I went to Hits Double Take site, a site for Hits magazine, and Al is doing even better on their chart than he is on the Billboard charts. Their charts are posted on Mondays. I'm going to post Al's and Eminem's chart positions, showing that Al is outselling Em, even though Em has a "Lose Yourself" video, yet Al has no video! So on 5/26, Poodle Hat debuted at #16. Eminem, however, was at #35. On 6/2, Poodle Hat was at #34. Eminem was at #45! As of 6/9, Al is at #39. Eminem is at #46. So, even thought they are both dropping, Al is still outselling Em! So that's something to keep our spirits up! :)

Yeah, Patti, that's cool!!! :onfire:

Though I don't think Al oversells Em in other countries...

But doesn't matter anyway, "Couch Potato" is definitely better than Em's "Lose Yourself"! Al has done it again!!! Yeeeeeehaw!

I thought that would brighten someone's day! Hey, Seva! *waves* Just to refresh your memory, on the Billboard charts, Al debuted at #17, so he did one better at #16 on the Hits chart. Then, last week, Al dropped to #42. He was at #34 on Hit's chart, 8 spots better than Billboard! We won't know until late Wednesday/early Thursday how he does on Billboard thi week, but I'm hoping he'll move up instead of down. One question, though. Where are the people who are posting the Billboard chart info getting it? I went to their site, and you have to subscribe. Is there a way to view the chart w/o having to do so? Just wondering.

If you've seen "Rocky", then you've pretty much already seen "8 Mile". Replace Sly Stallone with Marshall Mathers, and boxing with "rap battles", and you've got Em's movie.

Wow, that makes a lot of sense actually. I can just see the entire movie go through my head like that.

Hey, Patti -- the Billboard 200 [or Top 200 Albums Chart] can be reached here. Keep in mind that this page has ONLY the most recently released Billboard album chart, and that what is on this page changes every week. The archived stuff is what subscribers have access to -- and that's almost anything that's last week's or older.

Hope dat helps!

Thanks, Dr. Dad! I really don't need archived charts anyway, since the next one will be week 3, and we already know where Al was on the charts the past two weeks. This helps a lot!

I'll take it. And thanks for not shooting me for admitting I actually think he has some talent. Believe me, I'm more shocked than you are. :eh:

Well, if Al can admit it (and he did), we certainly can.
