I've personally always loved Burger King way more than McD's and Wendy's

But yes, good point I hadn't thought of before - licensing "Eat It" or "Trapped in the Drive-Thru" for a commercial. For the record, when I first posted about this, I wasn't imagining Al writing a three-minute McDonald's commercial and sticking it on Album 14. That's ridiculous. To paraphrase the end of my first post, nothing about this sponsorship really makes sense to me - so we'll have to wait and see I guess!
How we liking an Aloe Blacc parody for one of the final three? Someone I don't think we've discussed. "The Man" has been in the charts and Beats commercials for a while now and "Wake Me Up" (Avicii version) is still instantly recognizable and catchy. Imo.

Hmmm...so I didn't think Tim Thompson would actually reply to my tweet asking to define "soon" when he says "new weird al video coming soon"...but he just did:

The plot thickens?

Wow...considering the album's still three songs from completion, that's a little TOO soon. Even though he says "May or June", I'm guessing he really just means "July or later" or just a teaser clip may come out in May or June.
Also, I was just thinking about the whole McDonald's "connection" and what that could be. The one that would make the most sense to me would be if McDonald's suddenly started some form of promotion where they sell CD albums or offer free downloads-of-the-week within their stores (much like Starbucks has been doing with the latest J. Timberlake/Macklemore/B. Mars releases) and they got Al to participate in this by giving them the rights to carry his next album/singles.
Also, I just heard the new song "Talk Dirty" but Jason Derulo ft. 2 Chainz...and if Al hasn't already arranged/recorded the next polka medley, that song would be a perfect fit for it.

I'm thinking he really means May or June, though unless something shocking happens, the album won't be out by then. I'm guessing he's releasing one video before the album comes out. I think it will probably be an original.

I hope this means that the album could be out by July or August at the earliest this year. Hopefully, like Jon said, he's got feelers out to a few artists for parodies and has made some progress with the lead single in this regard.
Also, the McDonald's connection could simply be that he made a substantial donation to the Ronald McDonald house charity or some profits from the album or one of the singles is going there or something like that. That's something I could easily see him doing.

Since one of these videos is apparently produced/financed by Funny or Die, what do you guys think the odds are of this video debuting as an "exclusive" on their site in the weeks leading to the album's release? Could this be the first or second video/single for the album? (before the lead parody comes out of course)

Uh...technically his response to "define 'soon'" could have been about his "cool website"
Hate to smash dreams, but...
