Re: Album 14 Speculation :3
This happens every album. Someone forgets that speculation is not a spoiler but puts it in a spoiler tag anyway, or they go into a password protected spoiler forum and put stuff in spoiler tags so people who don't want to see spoilers won't accidentally see it

Re: Album 14 Speculation :3
According to the recording dates page, there are only three songs left!
But it doesn't seem to include the February songs, so we might actually only be one song away from the album? Whoa!

Tomorrow morning I'm appearing in a music video for someone whose videos I've wanted to be in for 30 years. #yay
I really think this for Al, although maybe not..

It could be for some other musician but knowing the type of music Patton's into, Al is the only artist I can think of who would still be around and relevant for most of the past 30 years.
It's great news that Al apparently recorded three new songs in December! I guess the album just HAS to come out by the end of the year now! I have a feeling one of those December songs may have been the polka medley. He probably just recorded two parodies last month and is now waiting for the right lead single.
Based on that Robin Thicke rhyming dictionary joke he tweeted last fall, he was probably thinking about "Blurred Lines" for this album. If it's not in the polka, then he may have recorded a parody of it in December. I think the timing works out just fine.
Also, it was around this time three years ago, Al was writing and conceptualizing "Perform This Way", so Al's next lead single is probably going to be a song that's hot right now. A quick scan of the Billboard Hot 100 charts indicates we may be seeing a parody of "Happy" by Pharell, "All Of Me" by John Legend or possibly "Royals" or "Team" since Lorde still has a spot on the chart.
Any other thoughts on what Al could be parodying in the post-Alpocalypse? Of course, these may all be too recent of songs for Al to have given them much thought by now. What songs that were big throughout 2012/13 could Al have done? My best guess from that recent period would have to be something from One Direction.

This still seems presumptuous. Just because he did something three years ago today doesn't mean he is doing it now. I think he recorded the lead single for Alpocalypse when he did because he had the approved idea for Perform This Way at that time. Al is probably waiting for the right target to come up and will record the parody after that. I highly doubt he is thinking "Oh no, it's March. I guess I have to work with whatever is out now..." That's not the way Al has done things in the past, and since this is his last album I see no reason why he would start now.Killingsworth wrote:Also, it was around this time three years ago, Al was writing and conceptualizing "Perform This Way", so Al's next lead single is probably going to be a song that's hot right now.
