I see Coldplay as more likely to be fourth supporting/backup parody rather than lead.

Right no but wouldn't it be awesome
Like all we have right now is Amerah's cell phone version
Not that that version isn't awesome but it would be cool to have an official one with lyrics and stuff

I feel like there was a reason why Al's Brain wasn't released before but I can't think why
But this would be awesome.

Awesome.

Also! Time to start listening to those 2013 mash-ups to get a good idea of the best song possibilities for album 14!
These mash-ups are kind of like a pre-polka of sorts
The Pop Danthology one is pretty fun, too. :ttr:

So for the Pop Danthology one at least, there were two One Direction songs (Best Song Ever and Story of My Life) soooo maybe at least one of those will pop up on album 14 somewhere! Hopefully!
Kind of ruling out I Knew You Were Trouble/22 and Roar for the most part since Taylor and Katy were on the last album.
And Miley, sadly! Sad for me at least. Wrecking Ball tho.
Other than that, we've got some pretty good choices here!

Again, I feel like if Al were going to include a One Direction tune somewhere on this album he'd sooner go for "What Makes You Beautiful" over those other two as it seems to be the most obvious and most easily recognizable choice (ala "Tik Tok" for Ke$ha and "I Kissed A Girl" for Miss Perry).

If Al's last two albums are any indication, there's a good chance at least tow of the parodies are going to be of songs that were (at least) two years old by the time the album is released. I'd expect some songs that were big hits during 2012 would show up on this album (at least in the polka) but there's a decent chance the album may just come out NEXT year, so those 2013 mashup songs could still be on here, too (especially if Al didn't even start recording his parodies until a month and a half ago).

According to what? I would call it a very slim chance at best, certainly not a decent one...
Al rarely if ever goes on the record about hoping something happens if he doesn't already have a pretty good idea that it's going to happen. What are the odds that in the next six months, Al can't think of a single lead parody idea?

Actually he said he hopes to have it out later this year on Steve Agee's podcast. He has six done done songs and did 3 in February and has 3 more to go.

Right, that's what I mean. He has gone on the record stating he hopes to have it out this year. He wouldn't say that on a podcast if there wasn't a very very good chance of it happening.

I'm just saying even though he said he hopes to have it out this year, I could see it if Al may not be able find the right lead parody until early 2015 or when he does find one, it might get delayed (You're Pitiful, PTW).

I want a new album out by the end of this year just as much as Al and the rest of you guys, too. I'm just saying, based on Al's previous experience with managers and record labels, I could see what may be going against it.
