First off welcome to the wonderful world of Weird Al Yankovic. Now... Please, don't b buy digital when referring to our pal Al. Go out and buy it the old fashion way at at a record store or best buy or other fine retailers. It will give you a warm fuzzy feeling. Think about it, you get to feel an actual CD. I know $3.99 is a really good price but were talkin' about Al. He's our buddy!!!!

However, if you did buy it from Amazon I suppose you are forgiven.

It's really irrelevant the price Amazon.com chooses to sell the album. You only have to pay $3.99, but the full $14 amount would get paid to whomever gets paid. Record label or whatever.
But yeah, me personally I like having the physical album, although I think I could have gotten away with just getting the regular version of the CD and then "Complete My Album"-ing on iTunes for $7 and be done with it. (probably will do that eventually anyway, so I can have the videos on my iPhone, since I'd rather not deal with ripping from the DVD right now)
But yeah, buy digital all you want. Multiple times if you want. Normal price will still be paid (by amazon.com) to Al.

The important thing for Billboard is total number of units sold. So, as the good Doctor said, feel free to get the discounted mp3 version!

Dude! Creative solutions at its best! Get a whole bunch of copies and give them as gifts. Nothing says I think your rad then the gift of weird al! I just have a tradition of buying his cds. This has been ongoing since the early 90s. Actualy my first Al album was a cassette of off the deep end.

Amazon foots the bill. Al's not gonna see any losses from the sale.
Amazon lost 3 million on the Gaga promotion. They aren't gonna lose that much with Al, but if they want to lose 500K or whatever for the greater good of Al, more power to 'em
Edit: And yes, this counts fully towards the Billboard charts. This week's charts alone saw old greatest hits albums by Journey, Sinatra, and the Foo Fighters see big chart gains from digital sales, and the current Foo Fighters album which was an Amazon Deal Of The Day last week, fell just outside the top 10

At the Best Buy in town, the album was in the regular Weird Al section, not with the new releases, and they only had 3 copies (2 deluxe, one regular).

I took a look when i went to Sam's Club yesterday and they did not have it. They had a pitiful little cd section and the only new release there was the cars 2 soundtrack they had a few other newish releases but not much of anything

This is a sign of the times unfortunately. I guess a majority of people buy their muic online. Target didn't have any Al and our local borders closed down. So if you want to buy CDs in Marin we have a Barns and Noble and Best Buy.
