I think I'm just too scared of Skip (and Skip is a nice guy!) to even try lingering in Al's presence. It was pretty bad when I gave Al a copy of a photo last summer and it was Driew, behind me, who saw the look on Al's face. I didn't even stick around to catch Al's reaction. I was in awe and giggly the first time I met him. Had him sign my forehead. After that, it's like talking to one of your friends. I spoke of the Halloween 99 show the 2nd time I met him, and he recalled it very well.
Summer 03, I shook his hand, welcomed him back to Maine-- and we jabbered about his spill on stage, and I gave him some floaty pens to add to the collection.
Once you meet him, you see how honestly 'real' he is, and it's like saying hi to a friend, or a buddy from high school you havn't seen in a while.
