Yep, assuming that was intentional.
I'm kinda wondering if the JibJab folks were big fans already or if Al suggested the little in-jokes like that or the 27 reference.

Yep, that's the one. I thought of "Melanie" as soon as I saw the Al/Taylor character looking through a telescope.

There's actually a few similarities between "DICYO" and "Melanie," though probably because they have the same theme: stalking.

At Rehearsals.com, there's video clips of Taylor Hicks being interviewed and practicing songs. About 5 minutes in, he mentions Al's parody and slips in "Do I Creep You Out" during the titular lines. heh

This is actually quite funny - Kierstin Cunnington, who played Debbie, was in a 2003 film called "Sexless." Her character's name? Melanie.
